Editor's Summary
I placed my second online fabric order with this company, and while it wasn't perfect, their customer support really saved the day. There were a few snags with my order, but they were super helpful and made it right. I'm still deciding whether I'll order from them again, but for now, I'm giving them another chance.
Specifications
Hello everyone!
I've been sewing clothes for myself and family members since high school, and I've gotta say, fabric stores have always drawn me in. But over time, I noticed the fabrics they carry often sit there for years, and the quality is usually pretty subpar. Plus, the customer service is often lacking.
So, I decided to try ordering fabrics online. I was a bit worried about getting the color right, since it's hard to capture the True color of the fabric on camera and a monitor.
I placed my orders with Textilia and Kupava.
Here's my order:
The Good Stuff:
First off, I was stoked to find some original blended fabrics on the website. Like, I got some Tencil viscose denim and a thick, plush viscose - you can't find that stuff in our local stores.
They also offer up to 25 free fabric samples, which is a total game-changer. Kupava doesn't offer that, and it made a huge difference for me.
And the customer support team? They're super responsive. More on that later.
The Not-So-Good Stuff:
First off, the website's calculator charged me a whopping 380 rubles for shipping. That's way too expensive. I've had packages delivered from Kupava before, and it only cost 100 rubles. I asked the customer support team to use the same shipping method, but they didn't change the total.
When my package arrived, I was surprised to see that it was shipped via the 'Posylka Online' method, which only cost 100 rubles.
But, I reached out to the customer support team, and they promptly refunded the excess shipping cost. Kudos to them!
Unfortunately, they didn't cut all of the fabric samples I requested. Maybe they were out of stock.
So, here's my order:
Fabric samples:
The fabrics are great, the color is spot on, and they even matched the thread color to the fabric. Now, I just need to find the time to sew them up!
