Honestly, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the whole ordeal with MegaMarket. I didn't think I'd be writing a review, but here I am, hoping someone will finally take action.
It all started when I received a notification that my 'thank you' bonuses were about to expire if I didn't use them soon. That's what prompted me to make some purchases on Megamarket.
I browsed through the selection and chose the Red Solution aero grill. It was available in two color options, with one being slightly cheaper than the other. I was a bit skeptical about whether the product would match the image, so I reached out to Megamarket's support team. They assured me that the product would match the seller's image, and I was convinced that I'd receive the exact item I ordered.
So, on September 29th, I placed an order for the Red Solution aero grill with a silver finish. A few days later, the order was cancelled (I assume because the product was out of stock).
No big deal, I thought, and I placed an order for the same aero grill from a different seller, but this time in a different color. It was a bit more expensive, but I was willing to pay the extra for the color I wanted.
It's been a week or so, and the air fryer finally arrived. I wasn't home on the day of delivery, so I asked the courier to leave the package at the door, which he did.
When I got home, I was in for a surprise. There was the air fryer, but it was the cheaper version with a silver trim, not the one I ordered - a completely black air fryer. And guess what? The box had the same air fryer with silver trim in it too. I mean, come on, paying extra for a color and getting a completely different product is just weird.
I didn't let it get to me, though, and I reached out to Megamarket's customer support. They told me to wait for the seller's response.
The seller is Cooper, and Megamarket is just a middleman between the buyer and the seller. It took a while, but finally, I got a response. They offered to process a return, which I, of course, agreed to. We chatted with the seller to arrange a pickup time, and I waited for three hours, but no one showed up to collect the package.
I had to reach out to the chat again, where I was told that the courier wouldn't show up, and to top it off, my return was denied because more than 7 days had passed since I received the product.
The operator then offered me 7800 bonus points. When I asked what percentage of the product's cost these points would cover, I was told that I could pay up to 100% of the product's cost, and of course, I agreed. I was told to expect a coupon within 24 hours.Did I receive the coupon? Nope.
Later, I got a message from MegaMarket.
I'm writing to the seller again, trying to clarify things, and now they're saying the most they can offer is 7,800 bonus points that cover up to 50% of the product's cost. I've been given the runaround, so I've agreed to accept the coupon. But, of course, I didn't get it.
I've written to the seller again, agreeing to take the coupon, but they're saying there's been another error and they can't give me the coupon now. My only options are a full refund or 500 rubles as compensation.
I've had enough of their empty promises and constantly reduced compensation offers.
I was shocked to see how the customer support team was handling my case. They kept finishing our conversations after my messages and return requests.
What really got me was seeing this air fryer listed for almost 5,000 rubles on other marketplaces, while Mega Market took 8,000 rubles from me. And to make matters worse, they don't want to return my money. I've tried to reach out to the support and seller through various channels - phone calls, chat messages, VK, and email - but it was all for nothing.
Most of the screenshots are cut off due to the app's limitations. I've attached the most important ones, but trust me, the conversations were lengthy and went nowhere.
It's been a month since this whole situation started, and the air fryer is still sitting in its box in the hallway. No one wants to take it, and they're not willing to compensate me either. I have no idea what to do with it. It was way overpriced, and the design isn't even the one I was expecting.
What's even more interesting is that this completely black air fryer is still being sold at an inflated price. The seller is openly scamming customers, and Mega Market is encouraging this behavior by passing the responsibility to the seller. The seller, on the other hand, is just dodging their responsibilities and refusing to resolve the issue.
I hope that after my long story, something will finally be done. I've tried every possible way to contact Mega Market and Cooper.
What do you think I should do next?
The battery life of this thing is actually pretty impressive - a week of moderate use and it still had plenty left in the tank. The buttons are also super responsive, and the build quality is top-notch.
