Magnet App

I've tried a bunch of apps to stay organized, but Magnet App is the one that actually works for me. It's got all the basics covered: notes, to-do lists, and reminders. I use it to keep track of work projects, personal tasks, and even grocery lists. It's super easy to use and syncs across all my devices.

My Take on the You Get What You Pay For Principle

summarizeEditor's Summary

I've been shopping at Magnit for ages, but it wasn't until I downloaded their app at the end of 2024 that I realized just how much I could save. The app helps me plan ahead, snag deals on essentials, and even find discounts on stuff my family loves. I've saved a whopping 3,500 rubles since 2024, which is no small potatoes. I love how the app keeps me on my toes with its changing savings calculations – it's a great motivator to keep shopping smart. I've been using the app for months now, and I've got to say, it's been a total game-changer for my grocery shopping routine. I can easily track my savings, find deals on my favorite products, and even get notifications when sales are about to end. It's been a huge time-saver and stress-reducer for me.

My Take on the You Get What You Pay For Principle
I've been shopping at Magnit stores for ages, so when I finally downloaded their app at the end of 2024, I was excited to see how it'd change my grocery shopping experience.
Saving money
I've saved a whopping 3,500 rubles since 2024, according to the app. Now, I'm not one to obsess over every coupon and sale, but I do use the app to plan ahead and stock up on essentials when they're discounted.
Savings are calculated differently each month, which can be a bit confusing. But hey, at least it keeps me on my toes.
What I love about the app is that it helps me plan my grocery shopping. I can see what's on sale and make a list of the items I need to buy. It's also great for finding deals on stuff I normally buy, like canned fish in oil. Last November, I snagged an amazing deal on it and bought four cans because my family was craving it.
I also use the app to grab discounted yogurt drinks, which are perfect for quick snacks on the weekends. We love going on long walks or helping out our elderly relatives on their dacha, so these drinks are a lifesaver. Plus, with a 30% cashback, they're essentially 30% cheaper!
When choosing categories for my monthly cashback, I go for the most in-demand ones. I usually grab milk, groceries, and feminine hygiene products from Magnit. So, if one of these categories comes up for the month, I always opt for it. The big plus is that my daughter has her own app, and we can juggle purchases – someone buys milk with cashback, while someone else goes and stocks up on sanitary products. It's especially nice to save when both Magnit and our local store have cashback on the same product.
Life hack! I discovered that if you're redeeming cashback and buying a product with Magnit's card cashback in the same purchase, the cashback isn't applied. I guess it's because if you're already redeeming cashback, you shouldn't be greedy. Maybe that's not the case, but I'm too lazy to write to support and figure it out. It's easier to split the purchase into two receipts – one for products with cashback and the other for ones where I redeem points.
I don't really accumulate points, considering how quickly they expire. I spend them on everyday essentials like milk, kefir, ice cream, and lavash. Right now, I'm redeeming points for some New Year's treats – camembert with truffles, red caviar, and so on.
What I ignore
I always ignore these kinds of tasks because I think it's not worth the effort. To reach the desired amount, you have to add something unnecessary to the receipt. Or it's something you don't need right now. That's not what I call saving money. From Magnit's perspective, it's a great marketing move to sell more products.
I also ignore the games. I played a few times, but the prizes are so meager, and the games are so shallow, that I start feeling like just another faceless customer – whatever you throw at me, I'll just take it. Yeah, forget it.
I'm not a big fan of the Magnit Plus loyalty program, mainly because I've got better things to do with my time. Yeah, you do have to activate the deals, and yeah, you need to read the fine print, because there are some sneaky terms and conditions. I'm not a fan of that, but let's be real, you need to be on your toes everywhere nowadays. So, I use the program sparingly, but I'm not expecting miracles.
Overall, I'm really happy with the Magnit app and the savings I've been able to make. It's been a game-changer for our household, and I'm excited to see what other deals and discounts I can find in the future.
One thing I would suggest to Magnit is to make the app more user-friendly. Sometimes it can be a bit tricky to navigate, and I've had to call customer service a few times to get help. But overall, I'm really happy with the app and the service I've received.
So, if you're looking for a way to save money on your grocery shopping, I would definitely recommend checking out the Magnit app. It's been a lifesaver for our household, and I'm sure it can be for yours too.
