Losk Duo-Caps Color Laundry Capsules

I've tried a bunch of laundry capsules, but Losk Duo-Caps Color really delivers. They're eco-friendly, color-safe, and knock out tough stains like a pro. Plus, they leave your clothes smelling fresh and clean. The duo-caps design is clever too - it ensures optimal cleaning performance every time. I've been using them for a while now, and I'm consistently impressed with the results. They're a great value for money, and I'd definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable laundry capsule.

The Budget Laundry Caps Showdown: Losk Duo Caps Color vs Persil and Tide - A Worthwhile Experiment?

summarizeEditor's Summary

I've been ditching powder laundry detergent for years, switching to capsules, and I'm glad I made the switch. Capsules are an amazing format for laundry detergent - compact, versatile, and effective. Losk Duo Caps Color caught my eye due to its budget-friendly price tag, but does it live up to its promise? I've been using it for a while now, and I'm impressed with the value for money. The capsules are easy to use, and the build quality is surprisingly good. However, there are a few things to consider before making the switch.

I've been ditching powder laundry detergent for years, first switching to liquid gels and then to capsules. And I'm glad I made the switch.
Capsules are an amazing format for laundry detergent - they're compact, versatile, and in most cases, super effective.
What's great about capsules is that they're usually a one-size-fits-all solution, containing a concentrated gel cleaner, a stain remover, and a fabric softener.
From a visual standpoint, capsules might look slightly different in terms of color and size, but they're generally these neat, square gel blocks with rounded edges that are soft to the touch.
The star of today's review is the Losk duo caps color - a budget-friendly capsule option that caught my eye.
As you might know, the Losk brand falls under the more affordable price segment, which is a bit of a departure from the likes of Persil, Tide, and Ariel, even though they're all made by the same parent company, P&G.
It's likely that the marketing team decided to go for an identical packaging and design for the Losk capsules to match those of Persil.
Sure enough, it seems like they nailed it - the packaging and design of the Losk duo caps color capsules are nearly indistinguishable from those of Persil.
Let's compare the Losk capsules to Persil:
These two packs caught my eye: Losk duo caps color with 12 capsules and Persil with 28 capsules.
The packaging looks pretty similar, but when it comes to the capsules themselves, they share a similar design too.
The capsules themselves look similar too - neat, square gel blocks with rounded edges that are soft to the touch.
Packaging and design:
The Losk duo caps color capsules come in a standard container with all the necessary information printed on it.
Ingredients:
5-15% anionic surfactants, <5% nonionic surfactants, soap, polycarboxylates, phosphonates, enzymes, fragrance
The ingredient list is pretty standard, and I wouldn't say it's particularly eco-friendly.
Quantity:
12 capsules
Price:
It's a steal at 75 hryvnia, or just $3 with the current discount.
Where I bought it:
I picked it up at Eva's retail chain.
Cap shape and design:
The double-cap design is pretty standard – one part contains the actual detergent, which is a dark grey color, and the other part has a stain-removing booster in a deep blue hue.
Unlike Persil, these capsules don't have a fabric softener – a feature you'll find in some Tide capsules.
The unopened duo-caps for washing with Losk have a pleasant, long-lasting, and fresh scent.
After washing with them, my clothes subtly smell like fresh flowers – a scent I absolutely love.
Effectiveness of Losk duo caps color:
The manufacturer claims these capsules are super effective at removing various stains due to their new and improved formula:
The Losk duo-caps are part of the latest generation of laundry detergents.
Its formula, containing 6 active components, has a targeted effect on stains.
I used these capsules to wash colorful clothes, mostly made of cotton (t-shirts, shorts, and the like).
I loaded a dirty load of laundry into the washing machine, added one capsule, and chose the color cycle for cotton at 40 degrees Celsius.
After the wash cycle was complete, I got a fairly clean load of laundry with a nice scent, but when I hung it up, I noticed some small transparent particles on the wet clothes that looked like clear mucus.
I had to gather the clothes and put them back in the washing machine for an additional rinse.
After the additional rinse, the situation improved, and the mucus was rinsed off the clothes.
At first, I thought it might have been a one-off, but the same thing happened again in the second load, and subsequent loads - bits of undissolved capsule coating stuck to the clothes and looked pretty unappealing, to say the least.
So, I had to do an additional rinse again - and that adds up to extra time, electricity costs, and water usage, even if it's just a little.
One might think that the quality of the water is somehow affecting the ability of the capsule coating to dissolve, but with washing capsules like Persil, Tide, or Ariel, I've never had this problem.
So, I'm confident in saying it's all down to the poor quality of the undissolvable capsule coating.
It looks like the manufacturers cut corners here, which is why the product is budget-friendly.
I won't be buying this again.
I'm going back to the Tide 3 in 1 capsules I've been testing.
The Verdict:
When it comes to laundry quality, specifically removing stains and spots, I've got to say the Tide 3 in 1 capsules deliver.
However, the quality of the capsule shell itself leaves a lot to be desired.
The material used for the capsule shell turned out to be poorly water-soluble, and it ended up sticking to my clothes in a transparent, slimy residue, which meant I had to do an extra rinse and extend the washing cycle.
I'd still recommend giving them a try, as they do a great job at tackling tough stains, but that one flaw is a deal-breaker for me.
So, if you're still interested in trying out the Losk duo caps color, I'd suggest starting with a smaller format to see how they work out for you.

New Persil 4 in 1 capsules: how they handle stains and what's the one thing to keep in mind.
Tide's new 4 in 1 capsules are now in disc form. How they stack up against Persil's 4 in 1 discs and Tide's 3 in 1 capsules.
