My Honest Take on Lenor's April Fresh Laundry Detergent

summarizeEditor's Summary

I've been hooked on Lenor's laundry granules for ages, and I'm not sure what got me started on this whole liquid fabric softener thing. I mean, all those rumors about how they clog fabric fibers and make towels less absorbent... yeah, that might've had something to do with it. Or maybe it was just my last fabric softener, which was a total disaster. Either way, I've been using liquid fabric softener only for cleaning floors ever since. For laundry, I stick with Lenor's April Fresh granules – they're a game changer for me. They leave my clothes smelling fresh for days, and the value for money is great. Plus, they're easy to measure and dissolve quickly in water, making it a breeze to use. I love that Lenor's laundry granules are gentle on my clothes and don't leave any residue. The packaging is convenient and easy to store in my laundry room, and I appreciate that Lenor offers a range of scents, so I can mix it up and try something new. Overall, I've been really happy with Lenor's April Fresh granules, and I'd definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a great laundry detergent.

My Honest Take on Lenor's April Fresh Laundry Detergent
Hello!
I've been hooked on Lenor laundry granules for ages, and I'm not sure what got me started on this whole liquid fabric softener thing. I mean, all those rumors about how they clog fabric fibers and make towels less absorbent... yeah, that might've had something to do with it.
Or maybe it was just my last fabric softener, which was a total disaster. Either way, I've been using liquid fabric softener only for cleaning floors ever since.
For laundry, I stick with something like this:
Lenor April Fresh Laundry GranulesI've devoted a few reviews to these fragrant granules, and in each one, I try to share something new and interesting. (Since I can't combine all the bottles into one massive, detailed review)
So, the April Fresh scent. Don't assume it's similar to the Scandinavian Spring scent just because they look alike – they smell completely different on your laundry.
Lenor April Fresh Laundry GranulesThe granules here are a bright blue color, just like all the other Lenors, in terms of appearance.
Lenor April Fresh Laundry GranulesMy April Fresh granules come in a cardboard tube that's slightly smaller than the usual plastic bottles. This cardboard tube is made of thick cardboard, but it lets the fragrance seep through big time. You can't keep it at home without getting overwhelmed by the smell. So, I immediately transferred it to an empty bottle with a tightly closing lid. That way, you can store it in your apartment without worrying about inhaling too much of it.
Lenor April Fresh Fragrance Balls
Lenor April Fresh Fragrance BallsI'm genuinely surprised by the manufacturer's recommendation to fill a third of the washing machine drum with these fragrance balls. If I follow that advice, I'll be stuck washing for at least three hours.
I, on the other hand, prefer shorter and medium-length wash cycles. By that time, the fragrance balls still retain their intensity, and my clothes smell great.
At first, I even wondered about those YouTube videos where international bloggers overdo it with the fragrance balls. But then I realized they often wash a huge load of laundry at once and on long cycles. I'm a stickler for sorting my clothes, and, no matter how hard I try, the washing machine drum is usually half-empty.
If you prefer washing like I do, trust me, a small teaspoonful – like the one from a fabric softener – is enough for a strong scent. My wash cycles usually last a maximum of an hour. I only set it to two hours for bedding. To be honest, I'm not even sure if that's necessary... A 60°C wash temperature is hot enough, and laundry detergent still does its job in under an hour and a half.
And, by the way, the hotter the water in the washing machine drum, the less intense the fragrance will be.
My reviews of Lenor fragrances aren't over yet – I'm excited to share my thoughts on a few more scents, and I'll dive into some nuances and my personal preferences when using them.
The April Fresh scent is a floral, pachouli, and white cedar aroma.
This is a pricey, slightly harsh, and absolutely non-sweet smell. It's a bold, rich, and even not fresh, but rather stiff scent, if you can call it that.
I've got a few open packets, and I've noticed that I prefer different scents for different types of clothes. For example, April Fresh is not something I'd recommend for bed sheets. It's more for blouses, t-shirts, or outerwear. And let's be honest, you don't need much of it for everyday use. The scent is intense, long-lasting, and strong. Sometimes it gets overwhelming, and I do laundry without Lenor. What's interesting is that even if something's hung up or folded with them in the closet, the whole closet still smells nice.
Here are a few more reviews on the scents I've tried:
Lenor's Fresh Sea Breeze
Ariel's Classic Scent
I also tried the Amestist scent, and that one's more suitable for home use. It's light and unobtrusive. I think a lot of people will like it.
I've got a separate category for household cleaning for all you cleaning enthusiasts
Here are some health-related reviews
My reviews on decorative cosmetics
My reviews on skincare
Overall, I'd say that Lenor's April Fresh laundry detergent is a solid choice for those who want a strong, long-lasting scent. However, it may not be the best option for everyone, especially those who prefer milder fragrances or have sensitive skin. As with any laundry detergent, it's essential to follow the instructions and use it in moderation.
Strong, long-lasting scentEffective at removing tough stainsAvailable in a range of fragrances
May be too harsh for sensitive skinCan be overpowering if used in excessMore expensive than some other laundry detergents
Rating: 4/5 stars
Recommendation: If you're looking for a laundry detergent with a strong, long-lasting scent, Lenor's April Fresh is a good choice. However, be sure to follow the instructions and use it in moderation to avoid any potential issues.
