You can buy this gel not just at Fix Price, I've also spotted it at Ulybka Radugi, Magnet... it's pretty widespread in the household cleaning section, right next to washing powder and drain cleaners. But in those stores, it'll cost you about double the price.I'm jumping ahead, but I'm so in love with this gel that I've bought a few bottles just in case. And that, I think, says something.
The gel comes in a blue bottle (that's important! There are green and white versions too – I've tried them all, but the blue one gives the best results) with stickers on both sides and a tight-fitting lid.
Even with the tight-fitting lid, there's an extra layer of protection – a second, lower lid. I have to admit, I was a bit careless when I first bought it and put it in my bag, and it leaked a bit. Luckily, everything washed out, and my clothes weren't ruined, but from now on, I'll make sure to tighten the lower lid even on new products.
First impressions count, and the top lid is ridiculously secure on the nozzle. You'll need to squeeze the cap on the sides to loosen it - a 'childproof' feature that would be great if it weren't for the second cap.
The gel comes in a 750ml bottle, manufactured in Russia.Gel has a consistency similar to dish soap, not too runny but not too thick either. The color is a lovely pinkish-purple, semi-transparent.
The scent is lemony with a hint of chlorine, but it's not overpowering. It feels like it's disinfecting, and after rinsing, all you're left with is the freshness of a just-cleaned space.
This antibacterial gel is perfect for:
- toilets (it removes old, 'rusty' stains with ease);
- cement tiles (grout lines aren't discolored too much, and the gel works better on flat surfaces);
- showers/steam rooms/sinks (you can leave it on the ceramic surface for about an hour, metal for half an hour, and on acrylic bathtubs I leave it for around 10 minutes, making sure to dilute it with water when applying - surface is fine);
- litter boxes;
- floors (you can add 1-2 caps of the gel to a bucket of water for disinfection).
This gel is amazing at removing old stains in the toilet, straight in water.
You'll need to pour it directly from the nozzle into the affected area and let it sit for a while (I don't follow the instructions, I start by pouring the gel onto the necessary areas for an hour or an hour and a half. Before cleaning the floors, I scrub those areas with a stiff-bristled brush and rinse with water). After that, clean the area with a stiff brush or sponge and rinse with water.
You've got to use gloves when working with this stuff! How many times have we skipped this simple rule, only to regret it later with a ruined manicure or dry, flaky hands...I've seen some low ratings for this gel, but I think it's because people were using the ocean-scented version. What a disaster!
Don't even think about buying the ocean-scented version.A lot of people were complaining about the 'ocean' version, but I was lucky enough to get the lemon one.
