I didn't watch the first season of Landisky, so I started with the second and then went back to the first. Honestly, I think that was the right decision because if you jump straight into the second season, you'll have no idea who's who, what's going on, or why.
I loved the first season, so when I heard there was a second one, I didn't hesitate to check it out. But here's the thing - the second season is nowhere to be found, except on Wink. And I'm still trying to figure out why, to be honest. Nowadays, there are so many platforms where people can buy subscriptions: I've got Start, KinoPoisk, and IVI, but no, they decided to put it on Wink, where I don't have a subscription, so I had to buy one just to watch the second season separately. That really threw me off, but my review isn't about that...
Landisky 'Second Spring'Plot
The second season starts with Katya searching for her husband Lyoha, who's gone missing. He's not on the list of dead, injured, or alive - he just vanished... it's clear no one's going to let her search on her own, so Katya and the 'Landisky' group head into the SVO zone. Officially, they're there to perform and support the people, but their real goal is to find Lyoha.
The Land of Winds 'Second Spring' Season 2This show really got to me. Watching a girl, who used to be indifferent to her marriage, which was initially fake, suddenly fall in love and go searching for her man in a super dangerous zone - that's not something every woman would do, even if she's been married for years. The fear is always there, and you never know when you might not make it back home.
But Katya's not that kind of person - she's fearless, a fighter, and she's not afraid of anything. That's what saves her life. It was really hard to watch her suffer.
Watch The Land of Winds 'Second Spring'The actress did an amazing job, in my opinion. She brought to life a character who's a total control freak, used to getting her way, and who's never said no to anything. But then her life turns upside down, and she has to adapt to this new reality, while also learning to appreciate the little things in life.
The Land of Winds Season 2 ReviewsThe scene where she's searching for Lesha, where she realizes that it might all be over... - that's really tough to watch, especially the part where she feels guilty for not saying the things that mattered, given her complicated past: she lost her mom at a young age, then her dad, and she's always lacked warmth and care in her life. And then her loved one goes missing, and it all just tears her apart from the inside out.
Katya's my favorite character, yeah, in the first season she totally got on my nerves: gruff, sharp, sometimes annoying, selfish. But then I got it in the second season - all that was just a defense mechanism. She was just missing out on love, warmth, and inside her was that same little, sweet, vulnerable girl who gets hurt, but she never shows it to anyone.
Landysh 2 season seriesAs for Lesha, he really impressed me. He's a sweet, good guy, even if he's a bit scrawny, but if needed, he'll stand up for himself and face danger head-on. He's the perfect guy... with a character. In the first season, it was already showing in his relationship with Katya - he's hot-headed, but you can understand him, she was pushing his buttons, and he's a living person, not a robot.
Landysh 2 season reviewsIn the second season, his character becomes even heavier, and it's totally logical. He got serious physical and psychological injuries. PTSD is terrifying, people really struggle to live with it, they go crazy, can't let go of the past, forgive themselves. Considering he was in a war zone where real horrors happen, his state is more than understandable. Watching the couple go through all this together, how they fight for each other, try to support each other, it was really tough for me to watch.
Lands of Lost Dreams "Second Spring" reviewsWhat's interesting is that in the first season, everything hung on Lesh, but here, everything hangs on Katya, and I felt bad for her. She's trying, she's pulling everything together, but they just don't understand her. Plus, there's the social difference: Katya's from a wealthy family, Lesh is from a children's home, and he's got a small salary and a tight-knit crew. It really gets to him, and he thinks he's not worthy of her, and that she can't handle living like that.
Honestly, I don't get why people make it so complicated. I mean, I get that Lesh is the main character, and he's been that way for 20 years, so it's understandable that he doesn't know how to communicate properly, give in, or listen to each other, but sometimes I see these same problems in adults, and it's just shocking. Why do people have to overthink everything? Can't they just live happily with the person they love?
Lands of Lost Dreams "Second Spring" watch reviewsBefore watching, I also read a lot of negative reviews about the second season, with many people thinking it wasn't worth making, that it's weaker than the first, and doesn't add much to the story. And yeah, the first season was definitely brighter – everything was new and exciting, and we felt all the emotions, but for me, the second season was way more emotional. It shows that not everyone can change, that not everyone is willing to admit their mistakes and accept each other and move on.
Landysh 2 season to watchI also want to mention the music in the series - the songs really got to me. I'd never listened to Jenia Trofimova or Nancy&Sidorov before, but after the series, I'm hooked and add all their tracks to my playlist. Even songs from 2024 that didn't grab me at first suddenly sounded different. I guess I just got swept up in the atmosphere - the emotions, pain, love, and struggles. The main song Landysh is really great, it's catchy and all about love and feelings.
Landysh 2 seasonNow, onto the small things that didn't quite work for me in this series. In my opinion, everything moves way too fast. So much happens in four episodes that I couldn't process it all. The search for Lesh, his treatment, and the drama - it all feels like it's been thrown together. I was also a bit disappointed that the Landysh group got so little screen time, and when they did appear, it was usually for some kind of drama. The girls are all great, and I wanted to see more of them, especially the group.
Landyshi 'Vtoraya Vsesna' ReviewsI've got to say, the second season was a bit of a letdown compared to the first, but it still managed to hit me on an emotional level. The first season was all warm and fuzzy, and I was grinning from ear to ear while watching it. The second season, on the other hand, was a heavy, intense ride that dealt with some tough themes like pain, fear, and complexity. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what happens next and where the story goes from here. I'd still recommend checking out the second season, but I get why it might not be everyone's cup of tea.
