Hello there!
I'm not a big fan of fabric softeners, but sometimes it's nice to have some clothes smell good after a wash. So, I always keep a bottle on hand just in case.
This time, I decided to try a new budget fabric softener from Lamm called Barhatnyi Pion. I've seen it around for a while, but never tried it.
Fabric Softener Lamm Barhatnyi PionManufacturer - Lamm, Russia.
Size - 1 liter.
Lamm claims that this amount of fabric softener should last for 40 washes since it's a concentrated formula.
Where to Buy - I'm not sure about offline stores, but you can find this fabric softener on marketplaces, often at a great price. Here's a link to the product.
Packaging - it's a dense plastic bottle, just like the ones I'm used to.
Fabric Softener Lamm Barhatnyi PionThe cap is deep and designed for pouring the fabric softener into the washing machine.
Fabric Softener Lamm Barhatnyi PionProduct Info is printed on the back of the bottle, and it's all in Russian.* The text on the photo is readable.
Lamm Soft Peony Fabric Conditioner Now that I've got the safety precautions out of the way, I guess it's no surprise - after all, it's a household chemical. Still, it's worth being aware of, especially if you've got little ones around (something I can personally attest to).Ingredients are pretty straightforward, similar to those found in hair conditioners: cationic surfactants and a fragrance. The first one helps soften fabrics and gets rid of static cling.
Consistency is on the thinner side, not quite water-like, but not too thick either.
Color is a clean white, no added dyes that I can see.
Lamm Soft Peony Fabric Conditioner Fragrance is pretty potent, but in a nice, floral way.
Personally, I think it's the perfect scent for a fabric conditioner.

Usage
I've used about half the bottle so far.
I add one capful of Lamm fabric conditioner to the middle compartment of my washing machine before running a cycle, which currently has completely fragrance-free laundry detergent capsules (for a clean experiment). One capful is equivalent to 50 mL.
Usually, I've got about half a washing machine drum full of laundry, which I haven't weighed, but I'd estimate to be around 3 kg or so - I don't like to overload it. However, it looks like I'm adding a bit more fabric conditioner than recommended.
I wash a wide variety of items, from kids' clothes to bedding and big bath towels.
Lamm Soft Peony Fabric Conditioner I usually choose either the intense (1 hour) or quick (30 minutes) wash cycle.xa0
Result
I have to admit, when I first smelled the damp laundry, I wasn't blown away by the scent - but my husband said the room smelled great after washing with it. I sniffed it again, and yeah, it's a soft, floral, and pleasant aroma. It's more noticeable on damp clothes, but let's be clear: it's NOT strong, it's really light. When the clothes are dry, the scent is still there, but it's not overpowering - it just smells like fresh laundry.
As for softness, yeah, the clothes feel nice to the touch after washing and drying.
Lamm Fabric Softener - Velvet PeonyOne thing I appreciate is that the clothes don't get static-y, but to be honest, static wasn't a huge concern for me to begin with. I hardly ever notice it.xa0
By the way, I've found another unusual way to use this fabric softener: I add a small amount to the water when cleaning my floors (or wiping down furniture) and it seems to reduce dust accumulation on the surface.

My Verdict
I've never really noticed a strong scent on dry clothes after using fabric softeners, so I don't use them often - and I definitely don't think it's worth paying extra for it. But after trying Lamm, I did notice a faint scent, even if it is light. The price is reasonable, the properties are a hit with me, so I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot.
