My Disappointing Experience with Lacri Balm

La-Kri Lip Balm

I've tried a bunch of lip balms, but La-Kri's really delivers. This stuff keeps my lips soft, smooth, and protected all day long - even on super windy days. It's perfect for dry or chapped lips, and the best part? It's ridiculously easy to apply on-the-go.

My Disappointing Experience with Lacri Balm

summarizeEditor's Summary

I recently tried Lacri Balm for dry and sensitive lip care, but it fell short of my expectations. The price has increased to 180 rubles, making it less of a value for money compared to last year's 117 ruble price tag. Despite being made in St. Petersburg and adhering to GOST standards, the product's performance was underwhelming. I'm still on the lookout for a lip balm that provides long-lasting hydration and protection.

My Disappointing Experience with Lacri Balm
I recently tried Lacri Balm for dry and sensitive lip care, and I have to say, it fell short of my expectations.
Last year, I found myself regularly visiting the Magnit Cosmetics store, and on one of those visits, I picked up Lacri Balm for a mere 117 rubles, including all discounts. However, in 2025, the price has increased to 180 rubles.
I'd never tried Lacri products before, but it turns out they're made in St. Petersburg, which is a plus in my book.
One thing that caught my attention was that the product is made in accordance with GOST standards, not TU, which is a big deal for me.
The labeling on the packaging also mentioned that it's suitable for children from birth, which I found reassuring. I've always believed that manufacturers who cater to baby care tend to use fewer harsh chemicals and additives in their products.
0% artificial fragrances, dyes, and parabens. This is a big plus for me, as I'm always on the lookout for products with fewer harsh chemicals.
The manufacturer also emphasizes that the product protects against UV ray effects, which is nice, but I was puzzled by the lack of SPF level information on the packaging.
The product comes in a cardboard box initially, which is a nice touch, and the balm itself looks great, with a medium-thick and opaque texture.
The box is full of promises from the manufacturer, but when it comes to the actual product, I was a bit disappointed.
The composition of the product is a bit ambiguous, to be honest, with a lot of good stuff in there, but I was put off by the presence of dimiticone in the ingredients.
Why include dimiticone in a product suitable for newborns?
The manufacturer's trying to pull the wool over our eyes by listing the vitamins and beneficial extracts as the top active ingredients, but they're actually in tiny amounts.
The box comes with a plastic tube of balm for your lips, which is convenient, but I found the applicator size to be a bit too big.
When you try to apply the balm with the angled plastic applicator, it's easy to go outside the lip line, leaving your lips looking messy.
The balm itself is made from paraffin, it's opaque, medium-thick, and white, it melts into the skin when it's warm, becoming more liquid and transparent, and it can even start to run.
On your lips, it leaves a greasy shine that's really noticeable and unflattering, not subtle or sparkly.
I decided to use this product only at home, applying it strictly at night, thanks to its unique properties.
The Effect
It doesn't work miracles on my lips, to be honest. Sure, it moisturizes a bit, and it does provide some nourishment, but the effect is short-lived and mediocre.
I applied this balm to my problem lips with cracks and sores for several days, and La-Cri balm didn't even come close to fixing the issue.
This product might be suitable for people with perfect, healthy lips who don't mind having a greasy, shiny spot on their face instead of a beautiful smile.
For the same price, you can find better and more effective lip balms with a better formula. Heck, even Fix Price's own Phyto Cosmetics lip balms are a better option.
I was torn between giving this balm 2 or 3 stars.
I decided to go with 3 stars, since the product didn't cause me any harm and didn't trigger any allergic reactions.
However, I wouldn't recommend buying this product!

live_helpFeatured FAQ

Is Lacri Balm suitable for dry and sensitive lips?

Unfortunately, it didn't work well for me, but it might suit others with less sensitive lips. It's made with gentle ingredients, but it's not enough to combat dryness and sensitivity.

What are the benefits of using Lacri Balm?

The subtle fragrance and GOST standards are definite pluses, but the lack of long-lasting hydration and protection is a major drawback.

Can I use Lacri Balm on children?

Yes, it's suitable for children from birth, according to the label. However, I'd still exercise caution and do a patch test before using it on kids.

What are the ingredients in Lacri Balm?

The product is free from artificial fragrances, dyes, and parabens, which is a good thing. However, the composition is short-lived, providing temporary hydration and moisturization only.

Is Lacri Balm worth the price?

I'd say it's not worth the 180 ruble price tag, especially considering the short-lived effect. You might want to look for other options that provide better value for money.

Can I return Lacri Balm if I'm not satisfied?

I'm not sure about the return policy, but it's always a good idea to check with the manufacturer or retailer before making a purchase.

How long does Lacri Balm last?

It's not a long-lasting product, unfortunately. You'll need to reapply frequently to keep your lips hydrated and protected.

Is Lacri Balm available in other sizes?

I'm not aware of any other sizes available, but it's always a good idea to check with the manufacturer or retailer for more information.
