I've been eyeing this brand for ages, and I've been growing the idea of making a purchase in my head. Did I really need it, or was it just a fleeting desire? I mean, who doesn't love a beautiful ring, right? It's like that old saying goes: 'you can't put a price on happiness.'
After a month of deliberation, I decided to take the plunge and check it out. But I wasn't entirely sure if I'd end up making a purchase. In the end, I bought it on the same day, and I'm so glad I did. I guess you could say it was love at first sight.
Today's review is about the Island Soul Silver Ring with a square white zircon.
I've got a little backstory to share.
I stumbled upon a similar ring from the same brand on Instagram, but it was smooth instead of textured. I fell in love with it, and for a month, I was obsessed with getting it. Unfortunately, it was sold out, and they'd discontinued production. I'm not sure if it was a sign that I didn't need it or something else entirely. But I decided that if I wanted it, I had to have it. I mean, you only live once, right?
This ring has become a sort of talisman for me. Buying it marked the beginning of a new chapter in my life, where I'd embark on a long journey of self-improvement. I had a lot to work on: my finances, my diet, my fitness, my mental state, and my overall health. It was time for a change.
On the day of the purchase, while I was on my way to the store, I decided that if I found a ring that I loved (I was torn between white and black) and it felt right, I'd buy it and trust that everything would work out. I mean, sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith.
The brand's packaging is quite pleasant, but I was put off by the fact that two consultants were assisting one customer for 30 minutes. The customer ended up leaving without making a purchase. Meanwhile, I was waiting in line, ready to make a purchase, but there was only one consultant available. It wasn't exactly about the service, but more about the overall experience.
I finally got my hands on the product and asked for the right sizes (15, 15.5, and 16). It turns out that the white one is available in 15.5 and 16.5, while the black one is only available in 15 and 16. I get that the black one might be a better fit, but I really need the white one! I measured the black 16 - it's huge! I measured the black 15 - it's too small. The white 15.5 fits perfectly, and I knew I had made the right choice. The only thing left was to pay the 7,500₽.

I paid and left for the cosmetologist, excited to try it out when I got home. And let me tell you, it's a stunner! I mean, it's one of those rings that looks even better in person.

I ended up going back to the store to pick up some more stuff for my daughter. I was thrilled with the purchase for about a month, but then things took a turn. I'll show you what happened in the next part.xa0
💍💍 And now, about the ring.xa0
First of all, it looks almost exactly like the pictures online.

At first, it fit perfectly on my finger. But then the coating started to come off from the inside. I'm not even sure what it's made of, but I'm pretty sure it's not silver. Although the packaging says it's silver. I mean, who doesn't want a silver ring, right?

I don't react to silver at all, but after a couple of weeks, my finger started to itch. And I was wearing the ring with gloves on, working with water! I'm not sure what's going on, but it's definitely not a good sign. I mean, a little itch is one thing, but a full-blown allergic reaction is another story.

My finger looked like this when I first touched this ring. And this is how it looked a few weeks later. That's the kind of reaction I only had once - when I was forced to wear nitrile gloves during the coronavirus times. And after the ceramic ring from Sanlite. Not with the silver, though. Heck, I didn't even react to the aluminum Apple Watch buckle. Or the titanium piercings. But this one... I've got questions about the silver alloy used by this brand. And yet, I paid 7500 for a silver ring, hoping to wear it, not just have it collect dust. But that's not how it turned out. I just can't wear this ring because, for my health, the alloy is not safe.xa0
It's a beautiful ring, but completely unwearable for me! I mean, it's a shame, because it's really pretty.
👎🏼👎🏼My verdict.

Based on my experience, I've been wearing silver for years (and it's been way cheaper!), I didn't expect to get this kind of reaction. The price, considering the quality of the alloy, is way too high. I won't be buying from them again. And I wouldn't recommend buying this either. In fact, Island Soul is now on my personal blacklist of brands. (I'm writing this review when my finger is already healed. As soon as I took off the ring, the reaction went away instantly. So, it's definitely the ring's fault.)
