Yota Mobile Operators

I'm a big fan of Yota's mobile operators - they offer the best value for money. I've had zero issues with coverage, and the customer support team is always helpful. If for any reason you're not happy, returning your plan is a breeze. I've been using their services for a while now, and I've been consistently impressed with the ease of use and the build quality of their devices. The battery life is also surprisingly long, making it a great option for anyone looking for a reliable mobile operator.

A Nightmare Experience with IoT: Poor Service and Lack of Follow-Through

summarizeEditor's Summary

I used IoT's services and had a disastrous experience with their customer support. The process of switching our number was a nightmare from start to finish. The delivery person was uncooperative, and the company's lack of follow-through left us with more problems than solutions. To top it off, the quality of service was subpar, and their technical support was unhelpful. I've never had such a frustrating experience with a service provider before. We asked them to port our number in July, but the whole ordeal was a complete disaster. The company's website has a lot of information, but it's hard to find what you need when you're dealing with issues. The delivery person was prompt, but that didn't make up for the rest of the experience. The company's social media presence is active, but their responses to customer complaints are lacking. The IoT device itself is just a standard issue device, nothing special.

I still remember the hassle we had trying to switch our number to IoT. It started in July when we asked them to port it, but what we got was a disgruntled delivery person who seemed put off by the whole process. She handed over our SIM card while complaining about everything - from the lack of a confirmation code to the fact that they'd sent an SMS with info about themselves instead. She even called someone to complain, only to be told that they didn't have the 6-digit code either. She handed over the SIM card and told us to call the code when it arrived, but as it turned out, it never did.
A week went by, and we received an SMS saying our data didn't match. We went to our operator to figure out what was going on, and they told us that the data couldn't be changed for several months because we'd filed a request to port our number. We called IoT to ask for help, but they just shrugged it off and told us it was our problem to solve. I was taken aback by their lack of interest in helping us - I didn't even call about anything specific, and they had no idea what was going on. They couldn't even offer any advice or information.
So, we went back to the point of contact and filed a complaint for a refund. They'd review it within a month, we were told. A month passed, and I asked why the money hadn't been returned. The employee checked and found out that they'd closed the complaint themselves without even notifying anyone about it - apparently, they didn't consider it a priority.
We filed a new complaint, and ten days later, we received 240 rubles. I asked where the rest of the money was, but they just told me that they'd taken 150 rubles for the SIM card, 100 rubles for the number porting, and 100 rubles were still stuck on our balance. Although they'd taken money for everything they didn't do, they'd given us a SIM card that we couldn't use and hadn't completed the number porting. We filed a third complaint, but again, a month went by with no news. I asked them to transfer the remaining money to my husband's number, which they'd also failed to port and kept sending SMSes to. When I asked what data didn't match, no one could answer. We filed a fourth complaint, and finally, the money showed up on my husband's number. We thought, 'Well, at least we can connect something and use these remaining funds.'
But here's the kicker: the tariff we wanted to connect (all for 399 rubles a month) was no longer available. Why? Because we'd had it connected for three months, but no one cared about that. We asked them to connect anything, but they chose a tariff with 260 minutes of calls for 390 rubles. They only connected the tariff, and then they told us, 'You don't have enough money.' I pointed out that the fee was already deducted from both of us at the beginning, and it'd been three months! They said they couldn't help with anything. I asked them to connect something on the remaining balance so they wouldn't take all the money. And what do you think? The tariff for the remaining 290 rubles was 20 minutes of calls, no internet, SMS, or anything else. To use something (at least a somewhat cheap tariff), you need to add at least 200 rubles. Great.
Result: approximately 1100 rubles for two SIM cards went straight into the pockets of these scammers. They don't even want to contact you and try to save their time. And their prices for tariffs are ridiculous.
