A Holiday Show to Remember: Ice Skating, Circus Acts, and More!

summarizeEditor's Summary

I just got back from the holiday show in New Bremen and I'm still buzzing from the experience. The organizers really stepped up their game this year, addressing all the minus points from last year's production. The result was a truly unforgettable show with a great mix of classic fairy tales and new twists. I mean, who doesn't love a good fairy tale, right? The ticket prices were super reasonable, starting at 800 rubles, and we got seats on the side for 1000 rubles. Don't get me wrong, I would've loved to splurge on the higher price categories, but they were all sold out. Still, we could see everything very clearly, so it wasn't a total loss.

We headed to the New Bremen shows yesterday and I'm still buzzing from the experience!
I've been a fan of Averbukh's ice shows for years, and this year's production did not disappoint. The fairy tale 'Mama' based on 'The Wolf and the Seven Little Goats' in 2014 was a favorite, but I have to admit that last year's 'Mishka and Carlsson' with Galustyan and Petrova was a bit of a letdown for me. Luckily, this year's show was a huge improvement.
The organizers took all the minus points from last year's show into account, and the result was a truly unforgettable experience. The show has an intermission and lasts around 2.5 hours. The first part is more like a classic fairy tale, while the second part has new twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Ticket prices start at 800 rubles, which is a great deal considering the quality of the show. We bought our tickets 40 minutes before the show started, and there were no more tickets available in the price categories from 1200 to 1500. So, we ended up buying tickets for 1000 rubles - seats on the side, but we could still see everything very well! The whole hall was packed, and it was clear that people of all ages were there to enjoy the show.
We saw families with kids, young couples without kids, and even a lot of pensioners. There were definitely three times as many adults as kids, which was a nice surprise. The atmosphere was electric, and everyone was having a great time.
There was a big crowd, but it wasn't too packed, and we could move around easily.
Why you should definitely check out this show:
1. The ice skating is incredibly professional and effective! The actors are well-known figure skaters from Russia and beyond.
2. The live music and commentary are a great addition to the show. This is Averbukh's first time doing this, and it's amazing!
3. The decorations are beautiful, and the circus numbers are a great surprise. Last year, there were none - this year, they really went all out.
4. Besides the ice skating, there are great circus acts that will keep you entertained. We even got to light the Christmas tree together, just like in the good old days!
And three nice bonuses:
6. There are free shuttle buses from the metro to the ice rink, although it's not a long walk either way. We walked back, but it was nice to have the option.
7. Each kid gets a small gift from Kinder, which is a nice touch. You don't have to pay extra for it, and it's worth around 200 rubles in the store.
8. There's free professional photo with Ded Moroz, which is a great way to capture the memory. You can download the photo later on VK or OK.
What might not impress you if you're there for the first time:
1. The lobby and cafe can get pretty crowded before the show, but it's worth it.
2. The cafe is a bit pricey, but the food is good. The toys from the stands are also pricey, but it's pretty much everywhere nowadays.
3. The rink was freezing, literally below 10°C, so you'll need to dress warmly. That was the case in almost every ice rink we visited, so it's not a surprise.
We were a bit chilly, but it was worth it for the show.
Nu and here's a photo from the show:
The massive screen with a video feed that complements the show
The whole audience was packed in.It all started with some humor, which immediately caught my attention. The costumes and dances were beautiful. What a great couple! The circus act with the camel was incredible. The ice skating was so dynamic. The dog was absolutely fantastic. The Mexican figure skaters were impressive. It was all so effectively done. The jugglers were amazing! Our champions, Tatyana Navka and Roman Kostomarov, were incredible.
It was a great crowd, and everyone was having a blast.
And that's a wrap on my holiday photoshoot with Margarita Drobiazko and Povilas Vanagas!
I have to say, it's been an amazing experience, and I'm so grateful to have had the chance to work with these talented individuals. The build quality of the equipment has been top-notch, and I've been impressed with the ease of use. The customer support team has been super responsive, and I've been able to get all the help I need whenever I've had a question.
As I wrap up this review, I just want to say thank you to everyone who's been following along. I hope you've enjoyed this little peek into my holiday adventures, and I wish you all a happy new year!
