After reading the instruction manual, I realized that Hepatrin is a dietary supplement, and I didn't even notice it in the pharmacy. I knew one liver supplement - it's Ovesol, and Hepatrin basically has the same purpose, which is to support liver health or prevent liver issues, but they don't cure the liver on their own.
Possible uses:
Research showed that Hepatrin has anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, and spasmolytic effects, and also regulates the motility of the bile ducts. You can take it on its own or in combination with other medications for patients with acute and chronic liver and bile duct pathology (non-calculous cholecystitis, bile duct dyskinesia of hypo- and hypermotor types, hepatitis of various etiologies, including viral).
Hepatrin should be taken from the first day of the disease at a dose of 1 tablet twice a day.
The duration of treatment is at least 30 days. An effective treatment course is at least 2-3 months. At the same time, the drug has good tolerability and no side effects.
I did take Hepatrin before seeing a doctor, just in case, but after visiting the doctor, they prescribed the medication specifically, although I didn't get a clear diagnosis... maybe it was that, or maybe it was something else, but the hepatitis test came back negative, nonetheless. It was suggested that the elevated ALT and AST levels might be due to iron supplement intake... now my medical record says I have a liver condition of unknown origin. The doctor told me not to take Geratrin, but it's okay to take it for prevention if you smoke, drink, or have a poor diet for a long time; otherwise, it's not really necessary...
Hepatrin comes in a standard cardboard box with a beige color and a liver design, so it's easy to recognize. I got the middle-sized pack - 60 capsules. Inside, there are four blister packs. The capsules are standard size, brown color, and contain a beige powder that's not unpleasant to taste or smell:
I took the capsules for a week, or to be exact, 8 days before seeing my doctor, twice a day. I didn't experience any side effects, but I didn't notice any effect either, although it's hard to tell with supplements. I didn't feel any pain or signs of liver damage, but my overall feeling was just okay, like when I'm sick. After taking the hepatrin, nothing changed, but after taking the pills prescribed by my doctor, I did start feeling better. So, I'm only giving it 3 stars, but I still recommend it because it might be suitable for prevention (I hope it's not just a scam). However, the promises in the ads are way overhyped:
