Cherry: A Gripping Family Drama That'll Hook You from the Start

summarizeEditor's Summary

I'm still trying to wrap my head around how much I loved this family drama. The story follows a wealthy mom and her 20-something son, who's got a complicated relationship with his dad. The author takes her time to develop the characters, and it really pays off. You'll get to know them so well that you'll feel like you're part of the family. The plot's got some twists and turns, and I was on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. It's a real page-turner that'll keep you hooked from start to finish.

A Gripping Family Drama That'll Hook You from the Start
I'm still trying to figure out where to start with this review – it's just that good!
The original title of this book is 'Cherry' or 'The Girlfriend', which is a bit misleading, since the Russian translation is 'Cherry' and the Ukrainian one is 'The Girlfriend of My Son'. I guess they wanted to keep the original title in there somewhere!
I'm not usually a fan of this genre, but I found myself getting hooked from the very beginning – and I'm not ashamed to admit it!
The story follows a wealthy mother and her 20-something son, who's got a bit of a complicated relationship with his dad. Then, the son meets this girl, Cherry, who's got a bit of an edge to her – and that's when things get really interesting!
Now, I'll be the first to admit that the beginning of the book is a bit slow, but trust me, it's worth sticking with. The author takes her time to develop the characters, and it really pays off. You'll get to know them so well that you'll feel like you're part of the family.
I did notice a few clichés here and there, but overall, the story's engaging and well-written. Michelle Frances has a way of making you care about the characters and their problems.
The main characters are well-developed, especially the mom, Laura, who's got a bit of a complicated past. And then there's Daniel, the son, who's got his own set of issues to deal with. And of course, there's Cherry, the new girl in town, who's got a bit of an ulterior motive for being with Daniel.
What I loved about this book is the way the author explores the complexities of relationships and the different ways people cope with stress. It's not your typical romance novel – there's a lot more depth to it than that. Michelle Frances tackles some heavy topics, but she does it in a way that's relatable and easy to understand.
I'd give this book 4 out of 5 stars. It's a gripping read that'll keep you hooked until the very end. I was skeptical at first, but the author's writing style really drew me in, and I found myself devouring the book in no time.
This book will be of particular interest to anyone who's ever had a complicated relationship with their mother-in-law or anyone who loves a good family drama. Just be warned – it's not exactly a light, easy read. You'll be on the edge of your seat, wondering what's going to happen next!
One of the things that really stood out to me was the way the author portrayed the mother-son relationship. It's a complex and often fraught dynamic, and Michelle Frances does a great job of capturing the nuances of it.
I also appreciated the way the author explored the theme of trauma and how it can affect people in different ways. It's a really important topic, and Michelle Frances handles it with sensitivity and care.
Overall, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good family drama or is interested in exploring the complexities of relationships. Just be prepared for a wild ride – it's a book that'll keep you guessing until the very end!
By the way, there's a TV series based on this book, and I've heard it's really good. If you're interested, you can check it out now – it's already available!
So, if you're looking for a book that'll keep you hooked from start to finish, look no further than 'Cherry' by Michelle Frances. It's a gripping family drama that's full of twists and turns, and it's sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.
