Editor's Summary
I was blown away by the gift box from the hospital when I gave birth in July 2025. My husband and I were expecting a lot of hassle when it came to preparing for our newborn, but this box was a total game-changer. It's packed with everything we need, from adorable onesies to essential baby gear. I'm seriously impressed by the quality of the items, and the value for money is unbeatable. If you're expecting a baby this summer, do yourself a favor and take the gift box – it's worth every penny!
Specifications
I became a mom in July this year, and I was prepared for the fact that in the hospital, they'd offer me a gift box 'from the governor' or a payment of 20,000 rubles.
A colleague of mine, whose son was born five years earlier, told me that the box felt good, but she'd given birth in May and there was a lot of warm clothing.
She thought we'd grow out of it by fall, so she took the money.
I read about the contents in official sources and decided to take the 'box.' My husband agreed with me - we thought the investment would be really worthwhile, and even if we were to buy everything ourselves, it wouldn't be much cheaper, if not more expensive.
Plus, we'd have to choose, and the prices would be overwhelming.
I won't show you everything here because the box is big, and it's not just bulky items inside - there's all sorts of little things.
The full list of contents is available online, anyway.
I checked out the reviews on Yandex Comments, focusing on the most recent ones from 2022-2023.
Now I've looked at those reviews again to see the differences in the contents, and they're pretty minor - just different brands and colors.
For me, it's weird to overpay for clothes that my kid will outgrow quickly, and personally, I don't care about it.
And I don't think it's worth it for me, either.
The box was given to my husband when we were discharged from the hospital with our son.
So, let me show you a bit of the gift.
First of all, here's the box itself. It's essentially a box on wheels.
I think we can use it to store toys later, and for now, it's just got some 'spare' stuff in it.
I'll start with what we're using right now.
Clothes. There are plenty of them. Onesies, pants, socks... And they're all different sizes, from 56 to 74.
We're using the smallest ones right now, since our son was only 50 cm at birth.
We've put the rest away for now - winter and fall combinations.
This is what we haven't opened yet.
First off, let's talk about the baby towel with a corner and a bathing mitt.
It's white, and to be honest, it feels a bit coarser than the ones we've bought ourselves, but it'll do when our little one grows up a bit.
The pacifier container is a nice touch - I've attached it to the stroller, and it's always got a spare pacifier in it.
The baby nail clippers are just your run-of-the-mill clippers with teeny-tiny nail files - they get the job done.
We also got a pack of diapers, but unfortunately, it's gone without a photo.
I'm not even sure what brand it was - maybe Mommy or Merris, but it wasn't them.
These are the bathing essentials for six months and up.
The waterproof changing pad is a lifesaver - I've got one in the stroller, and one in the crib.
As for the baby bath set, we're not using it yet, but it's got all the essentials - shampoo, body wash, and the works.
It's got a year or so left on the expiration date, so it's a good deal for the price.
Since I've already got my own diaper cream and powder, the ones included in the set are just taking up space.
The aspirator is still in its packaging, since I bought it myself.
There were also some baby wipes, cotton balls, and cotton swabs with a safety cap - just the basics.
The breast shields for mom were unfortunately not needed.
I was really impressed with the extras that came in the box.
There were two little bottles, a bottle warmer (which we didn't need since our baby is on formula), a plastic nursing clip, a warm blanket that felt like something from my childhood, a set of bedding for the crib, a hairbrush set, a teether, reflective stickers for the stroller, a water thermometer shaped like a duck, and an electronic thermometer...
The lanolin nipple cream was a nice touch.
I actually bought some for myself from a different brand, but this one was included.
I'll be using it on other areas too.
Overall, we're really happy with our purchase.
Everything we needed was included, and the quality is pretty good.
Okay, maybe the nipple shields were a bit cheap, but we got four of them, and I'm keeping one in my bag as a spare.
It's been a lifesaver a few times.
We've been able to wear some of the smaller items, like onesies, footed rompers, and socks, and we're happy with the value for money.
This bundle is perfect for first-time parents.
Once you have a second child, you might not need half of the stuff.
And if you're someone who likes to pick out every single item, you might be disappointed with the design or colors.
I didn't care too much about the designs, as long as they were on sale.
But some people might spend hours choosing the perfect onesies or other items...
We're happy with our purchase, especially since it was a gift.
We've already used some of the items, like the nail clippers, which I wouldn't have bought otherwise.
Thanks for reading!
