Fairy Pure & Clean Dish Soap

I've been using Fairy Pure & Clean Dish Soap for years, and it never fails to deliver. The formula is super gentle on my hands, yet it's a beast when it comes to tackling grease and food residue. I've tried other dish soaps, but this one's a staple in my household for a reason - it just works.

Fairy Pure&Clean: Hits and Misses in My Experience

summarizeEditor's Summary

I'm all about living sustainably, so when I spotted Fairy Pure&Clean on the supermarket shelves, I had to give it a try. The packaging is pretty standard, but the flip-top lid is well-made and closes securely – a nice touch. I used it for a week, and it's a decent addition to the Fairy family, but it's not without its drawbacks. For the eco-conscious consumer looking for a reliable dish soap, it's worth every penny, but there are some misses to consider, like the small standard tube size and confusing application instructions.

Hello everyone, I'm a big fan of living sustainably, and I always opt for the bigger packs of Fairy to reduce waste.
When I spotted the new Fairy Pure&Clean on the supermarket shelves, even in the standard tube, I just had to give it a try.
First Impressions
The packaging of Fairy Pure&Clean is pretty standard for Fairy products – nothing too exciting, but it gets the job done.
On the back, there's a sticker with the application instructions and other standard info:
The flip-top lid is well-made and closes securely – a nice touch.
Using the Product
I applied a decent-sized dollop of Fairy Pure&Clean to the sponge.
I was expecting Fairy Pure&Clean to produce a huge amount of foam, like it usually does, but this time it was a bit of a letdown.
With just one dollop, I managed to wash a small pile of dishes:
Not exactly a mountain, right?
The foam on the sponge was still there, but it just spread the grime around.
On the plus side, the product washes off easily, and I don't have to drain a whole cubic meter of water down the drain. That's a plus.
Greasy Frying Pan Test
So, how does Fairy Pure&Clean handle a super greasy, grimy frying pan?
I've always been used to Fairy being a reliable solution that cuts through grease. But this time, something didn't quite go as planned:
I had to reapply the Fairy Pure&Clean to get the skillet clean. But it did get clean, of course, with the second application.
Cost and Value
Maybe I've just been spoiled by the previous version of Fairy, which I bought ages ago and never even got to use. But I've noticed that this new bottle seems to be disappearing at an alarming rate.
It's not just a one-off, either – my experiments with the product have confirmed that it's a real money-sucker.
Skin Reaction
I don't wear gloves when washing dishes, and I'm not about to start now. What I can say about Fairy Pure&Clean is that it does dry out my skin. It's not as bad as some of the previous versions, though – I don't get the usual cracks between my fingers. It's just a general dryness.
And, of course, my nails do start to get a bit frayed at the tips. It's like the Fairy Pure&Clean is eating away at them.
Perish the thought of not wearing gloves!
Alternative Uses
One of my favorite things about Fairy is its versatility. I've found that it's great for cleaning stains on clothing, too.
Just apply a tiny bit of Fairy Pure&Clean to the stain, toss it in the washing machine on a normal cycle, and voilà – it's like new.
Who needs special glass cleaner when you've got Fairy Pure&Clean? I only clean my windows a few times a year, and I don't bother with the fancy stuff. I just apply a tiny bit of Fairy Pure&Clean to a damp cloth, wipe down the window, and then rinse it off with clean water. It's a simple, effective solution.
I rinse the cloth and wipe away the suds until the window is just a sheet of sparkling water. Then I dry it off with a clean, dry cloth.
And let me tell you, the windows are crystal clear now! No streaks or residue at all.
The Verdict
The good stuff:
The packaging and texture look super sleek It cleans really well It tackles grease like a pro It rinses off easily It doesn't dry out my hands as much as I thought it would There are some cool alternative uses for it
The not-so-good stuff:
It's not the most budget-friendly option
Of course, I'd still recommend giving this a try, but I'm definitely going back to my trusty old green Fairy soap.
