Cordiant Polar 2

The Cordiant Polar 2 is a solid choice for anyone looking for a reliable tire. I'm talking great performance and a seriously good value for money. The build quality is top-notch, so you can expect a smooth ride. Plus, the tread pattern gives you excellent traction on all sorts of road surfaces - wet, dry, you name it.

My Honest Review of the Cordiant Polar 2 Tires - A Mixed Bag

summarizeEditor's Summary

I recently got my hands on a set of Cordiant Polar 2 tires that came with my car, but after driving on them for three seasons, I've got to say, I was pretty disappointed. The tires are pretty bulky, with a width of 185mm and a height of 65mm, and they've got a directional tread pattern that looks pretty aggressive. While they handled snow and ice decently, the ride was uncomfortable and the handling was subpar. With a price tag like this, I expected a lot more.

Hello everyone.
I recently got my hands on a set of Cordiant Polar 2 tires that came with my car. I have no idea how many miles the previous owner drove on them, but they looked brand new, like they'd never been driven at all.
I drove on these tires for three seasons, and I've got to say, I was pretty disappointed.
First, the specs.
The tires have the following dimensions:
➡️ Width: 185mm.
➡️ Height: 65mm.
➡️ Diameter: 15 inches.
The tire is pretty bulky, to say the least.
It's got a directional tread pattern that looks pretty aggressive.
The tires have a pretty deep tread and some decent tread blocks that should provide good traction.
On the side, you can see all the tire's characteristics, just like on any other tire.
Now, my impressions.
I wouldn't say the tire is terrible, but I wouldn't say it's great either. It's just okay, but only in certain areas.
I'll break down my impressions of it point by point.
Handling on snow and ice.
Okay, let's start with this point. In general, it's not bad. I actually liked how it gripped the snow. And on ice, the car handled pretty well too. The brakes worked okay, and I didn't find the stopping distance to be too long. Of course, I drive pretty cautiously in the winter, keeping a safe distance and braking early. But even so, I got stuck once on a patch of bare ice this winter.
Handling and comfort.
I've got to say, the tire was a major letdown when it came to comfort. When I switched from my super-comfy summer tire Nokian Hakka Green to this one, I felt a real discomfort. The tire is stiff, and my car feels every bump on this tire. It doesn't do a good job of cushioning potholes or holes. It's absolutely not comfortable to drive on. At least, that's my experience with my car, which already has a stiff suspension. Unless you're driving on a smooth road.
xa0
My car's handling has gotten worse. I'm comparing it to my summer tire, which made me feel like I was one with the road. I wouldn't say my car is completely unmanageable on this tire. But I feel like I'm in a constant state of mild tension. It's like my wheels and car aren't quite in sync.
xa0
So, if you're looking for comfort and good handling, give this tire a pass. You'll probably hate it.
Noise level.xa0
This tire is noisy, and the rumble is pretty significant, especially right after switching from my summer tire. But I got used to it.
xa0
Wear resistance.
xa0
After three seasons of driving on them, the tires look great. The tread hasn't worn off at all, and all the studs are still in place. Maybe I'm just a careful driver...
xa0
Here's what my car looks like on these tires.
Pros and cons.
I wanted to highlight the pros and cons of this tire.
xa0
It does a decent job of plowing through snow.It handles ice pretty well, except for the initial acceleration. It's wear-resistant.xa0
It's stiff. It's noisy. It's not the best for handling. It's not comfortable to drive on.xa0
Overall, I'd give it a 3 out of 5. Yeah, this tire handles snow and ice pretty well, but the discomfort I feel while driving on it and the not-so-great handling are holding me back from giving it a higher rating.
xa0
Other reviews.
◆ I was blown away by how comfortable it is to drive on these tires - they really smooth out the suspension and do a great job of gripping the road.
◆ KIA RIO - it's a good car, but it's not without its flaws. I've driven it for a while now, and I've got some thoughts on its handling, comfort, and features.
◆ These winter tires are great, but they've got one major drawback.
◆ Unfortunately, this car's air freshener is a total disappointment.
◆ If you're looking for a chill place to relax by the beach without breaking the bank, this spot is definitely worth checking out.
