A Huge Improvement Over Old Magnet Stores
This Cozy Store Has Everything I Need Right in My Neighborhood!
I'm really glad the old Magnet stores were replaced with Chizhik, Ulybka Radugi, and a pharmacy. To be honest, I'm not sad to see those 'magnets' go – they were always dirty and smelled terrible. Plus, the prices in Magnet Kozmetik were way overpriced, and the selection was pretty limited. I never saw any new products or promotions. I usually shopped at the newer Magnet stores that opened later, but they were a bit further away.
I've heard some people say that Magnet Kozmetik was better, but I'm not sure what they're talking about. Maybe it was the fake sales during discount days? Yeah, they're similar, but Ulybka Radugi is way more pleasant, and the prices are lower.
What I Love About Ulybka Radugi
I've been to three Ulybka Radugi stores, and they're always pretty quiet, but super clean and cozy. Magnet Kozmetik is always chaotic, even when there are no customers. The managers are always yelling at the poor girls who work there, right in front of the customers. They're always rushing the girls to put out the products, and then they get yelled at for having boxes on the floor. Is this just our Magnet store, or is it a thing everywhere?
Ulybka Radugi is a different story, though – they have a similar selection, but it's always well-organized. I usually see one sales associate, and two during product restocking days.
Very near the entrance, there are displays for decorative cosmetics and perfumes.
One thing that really stood out to me was the variety of affordable perfumes from lesser-known brands. I've seen some from Belarus, like Dili and You&World, which is super popular among young people. I've also spotted some from Nokturne, Magnit Cosmetics, and Golden Apple, but I'm not familiar with those brands.
They even had some of the most talked-about fragrances lately!
What really made my day, though, was the selection of Belarusian cosmetics! I'm obsessed with products from Belor Design and ReLui.

I really liked these brushes - they're soft, yet they clean so well! The brand has also become a discovery for me.
I was a bit skeptical about the hair dyes, to be honest. I wouldn't recommend them at all, especially for kids.
They even had pet food and litter, plus some tasty treats.
At the end of the hall, there was a separate stand for household chemicals (detergent, gels, powders, and drain cleaners).
And, of course, there were insect repellents – which was super useful during the summer months. I ended up buying three mosquito repellents, because those little critters were driving me crazy!
Self-service checkout is always available, so most of my purchases go through it.
The navigation is super intuitive, just don't forget to add your loyalty card. You can either scan it by barcode or enter the number on your phone. The discount and points only apply if you have the card. Occasionally, they give you a coupon for 40% off your next purchase, but only if you buy three items and the discount is applied to the most expensive one from the original price.
Cashier stand is basically stocked with sweets like chocolates, gum, wafers, and more.
My Latest Purchases
I think I've covered all the main products in the store. Now, let's move on to my latest purchases and my thoughts on them.
The store has a sale day on the 15th and 16th of every month, with 20% off the entire range. Even yellow price tags are included, but no points are awarded.
I'll start with the ones that didn't impress me. The thermal protection smells like pine trees, tastes awful, and lasts forever, but I didn't notice any positive effect on my hair. The deodorant caused some itching, although it smells amazing and does a decent job of keeping me dry, but only for a short while.
The cheap mosquito repellent and liquid was a decent buy at first, but the mosquitoes eventually adapted and became a nightmare, not even scared off by two devices. The mosquito repellent device itself is made of quality plastic, universal for all liquids and plates.
When it comes to household cleaning products, I stick to what I know. The air freshener 'Fresh Laundry' smells incredibly clean. What's the secret ingredient? Cleanliness.
Almond soap smells great and gentle, while my daughter thinks it smells like a wet dog. The almond in this soap is something else...
Tide laundry detergent has been my go-to for years, and I use it to wash all my light-colored clothes. I love its scent and the quality of the washed clothes, especially towels and underwear.
The Sanfor gel for the toilet is decent, but Sanox is way more effective and cheaper.
Grass Anti-Shine Spray needs no introduction - it's the best, but the price without a discount is way too high, around 250 rubles.
Laska Gel for washing is a total game-changer. It effortlessly removes minor stains, leaves clothes feeling soft and looking vibrant, and has a lovely scent. Essentially, it's a laundry detergent and fabric softener in one.
Hands down, the best micellar water I've tried is from Evelyn. It's incredibly effective at removing makeup, gentle on the eyes, and leaves your skin feeling smooth and refreshed. Plus, it's only around 250 rubles.
For deodorants that actually work, I swear by Rexona. They've been a reliable choice for years.
I recently reviewed this eyeshadow and I'm still obsessed with it.

Valori is a brand that's only available in Ulybka Radugi, but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. One thing I do love, though, is that they offer a range of travel-sized masks, which is super convenient and practical in certain situations.
I've got to say, I really like shopping at 'Smile of the Rainbow' store. I go there often and buy everything from essentials to cosmetics, mostly makeup, and occasionally skincare and haircare products. I'm a bit more picky about professional or organic products, which is something I wish they had more of. But, in general, the selection is pretty good and varied, considering the store is on the smaller side. I do appreciate the variety of affordable products from lesser-known brands, but I tend to stick with tried-and-true formulas.
I was also happy to see they have a self-service checkout and a loyalty card.
