My Morning Wake-Up Call: A Tale of Furry Abuse

summarizeEditor's Summary

I've been held hostage by my feline overlords for a week now, and I'm still trying to figure out how to get some sleep. The older cat's constant meowing and the middle cat's snoring in my lap have made mornings a real challenge. The younger cat, on the other hand, is a bundle of energy and loves to play. Despite the chaos, I've noticed a few things about our morning routine that are worth sharing. First, the cats are incredibly demanding, but they're also pretty entertaining. Second, the older cat's build quality is surprisingly solid, and the battery life of the food bowl is longer than I expected. Finally, the cats' ease of use is unmatched – they can figure out how to get what they want in no time. Our morning routine is a wild ride, but it's definitely worth it.

I have to admit, I'm a willing victim of the only abuse in my life.
Early morning. Dark outside. I'm lying in bed, trying to sleep.
The older cat, who I'm still not sure where he came from:
- Hey, human, can we get some food around here... The bowl is empty. And you're sleeping? Oh, sleep, sleep... I found a cracker on the baseboard, I'll just snack on that... You sleep, sleep... When you wake up, you'll find my cold body... Starving to death... You'll be crying... You didn't love me, you didn't protect me...
Older cat on the right, middle cat on the leftI'm still lying here. Trying to sleep.
The middle cat, who snored all night in my lap:
Tap. Tap.
Tap, tap, tap.
Tap-tap-to-tap-tap.
- Ow, you just poked me in the stomach!
- And I'll just put my paw on your nose, too. You know where that paw has been? Just eat already!
Picture: Starving cat next to an empty bowl. Canvas, oil, 2026The youngest cat: silent, but watching the events from the back of the armchair, ready to pounce the moment he hears the sound of kibble hitting the ceramic bowl.
This is the youngest catI'm still lying here.
The cat creeping up to my head:
This is the cat- Look at how beautiful this world is... The sun is already up... And you should get up.
I'm lying here. Pretending to sleep, hoping they'll leave me alone.
The cat resorts to its last, most effective tactic.
Mode "Face to the wall": ACTIVATED. Mission accomplished.
Product Description
I've been on the hunt for a decent food for my super fussy bulldoggos. They're not exactly picky eaters, but they do expect something tasty. And as their owner, I want to make sure the food is good quality and won't break the bank. Our previous go-to, Sirius, had a price hike after the new year and was now way out of our budget. I scoured the web and online marketplaces, hoping to find something more affordable without sacrificing quality.
So, here's what I managed to find.
This food from MIA pet is only available on Webasyst. After some digging, I couldn't find much information about it apart from what's listed on the product page.
The price was very reasonable - around 900 RUB for 2 kg.
Here's a direct link to the product:
I wouldn't have tried an unknown brand, but the sheer number of reviews (over 6,000) won me over. The average rating is 4.9.
The manufacturer positions it as a super-premium food, with 42% of meat content.
Here's the ingredient list:
meat; by-products; rice; oat flakes; barley; fish oil; apple; cranberry; flaxseed meal; beet pulp; vitamin and mineral complex; chicory root; yucca extract; pumpkin; seaweed; turmeric; antioxidants; prebiotics; glucosamine; taurine
The food arrived in a massive box, like something from under a shoe rack.
After cutting it open, I accidentally damaged the package and had to tape it up with some scotch tape.
The packaging is basic and a bit cheap-looking, but it does have all the necessary information. The product image features a Burmese cat.
This food is designed for adult sterilized animals, over one year old.
Flavor: meat assortment.
Weight - 2 kg.
Expiration date - 18 months.
I love that it has a zipper lock, so you can close it back up after opening to prevent the smell from escaping.
And here's the ingredient list, broken down by component:
Appearance and smell of the food
The kibbles are medium-sized, light brown in color. The smell is mild, slightly earthy, and reminds me of whole wheat bread.
My cats' reaction
My cats absolutely loved this food. They know they're not the only ones in the household, but this stuff had them going wild.
As soon as I pour it into their bowls, they're all over it. It's like they're starving or something.
Even my toothless cat is chomping down on it pretty well.
I barely have time to turn around before the bowl is empty, and my cats are sprawled out in various states of relaxation, munching on their bellies and enjoying the aftermath.
At first, I thought they weren't getting enough, but after a while, I realized they're actually pretty hooked on this stuff.
The consumption rate is crazy high - four cats is a lot to feed, and mine are always looking for their next meal.
Aftermath
And the best part? No negative consequences whatsoever. My cats are happy, healthy, and looking their best.
I'm happy to report that I didn't encounter any unpleasant surprises with the Sirius, like those dreaded 'blue water' moments, where you find yourself cleaning up after a mess on the carpet or floor.
The poop itself is of normal consistency and doesn't have that awful smell.
Interestingly, I did notice that the Sirius sometimes had a strong onion smell coming from the litter box, but with this food, that issue is gone.
I'm thoroughly impressed with Sirius and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and easy-to-use pet food.

live_helpFeatured FAQ

How do I get my cats to stop demanding food at 4am?

Unfortunately, there's no easy answer to this question. Cats are notorious for their ability to wake up their humans at the crack of dawn, and it's not uncommon for them to meow loudly until they get what they want. One strategy that might work is to try feeding them a bit earlier in the evening, so they're not as hungry in the morning. However, this is just a temporary solution, and you may need to find other ways to deal with their constant demands.

Why do my cats always seem to be getting into trouble?

Cats are naturally curious creatures, and they love to explore their surroundings. This can sometimes lead to trouble, especially if they get into things they shouldn't. One way to prevent this is to make sure your home is cat-proofed – move any hazardous materials or fragile objects out of reach, and consider blocking off areas that you don't want them to access. You can also try providing them with plenty of toys and scratching posts to keep them occupied.

Can I return my cats if I'm not happy with them?

Unfortunately, it's not that easy. Cats are living creatures, and they can't be returned like a defective product. If you're not happy with your cats, you may need to consider rehoming them or finding a new owner who is a better match. This can be a difficult and emotional process, so it's worth considering your options carefully before making a decision.

How do I get my cats to stop snoring so loudly?

Snoring in cats is usually caused by a combination of factors, including their anatomy, weight, and sleep position. If your cat is snoring loudly, it's a good idea to talk to your veterinarian about the issue. They may be able to recommend some strategies for reducing your cat's snoring, such as losing weight or using a humidifier in their sleep area.

Why do my cats always seem to be hungry?

Cats are natural predators, and they have a high metabolism that requires them to eat frequently. This means that they may always seem to be hungry, especially if they're not getting enough to eat. One way to prevent this is to make sure you're feeding them a high-quality diet that meets their nutritional needs. You can also try feeding them smaller, more frequent meals to keep them satisfied throughout the day.

Can I leave my cats alone for long periods of time?

It's not recommended to leave your cats alone for long periods of time, especially if they're still getting used to their new environment. Cats are social animals that thrive on interaction and attention, and they can become stressed or anxious if they're left alone for too long. If you need to leave your cats alone for an extended period, it's a good idea to make arrangements for someone to check in on them or provide them with some companionship.

Why do my cats always seem to be getting under my feet?

Cats are naturally curious creatures that love to explore their surroundings. This can sometimes lead to them getting under your feet, especially if they're trying to get to a particular spot or object. One way to prevent this is to make sure your home is cat-proofed – move any hazardous materials or fragile objects out of reach, and consider blocking off areas that you don't want them to access. You can also try providing them with plenty of toys and scratching posts to keep them occupied.

Can I train my cats to do tricks?

Yes, you can definitely train your cats to do tricks. Cats are intelligent animals that can learn a wide range of behaviors with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. One way to start training your cat is to use positive reinforcement techniques, such as treats and praise, to encourage them to perform the desired behavior. You can also try using clicker training to help them learn new behaviors.

Why do my cats always seem to be sleeping?

Cats are natural predators that spend a lot of time sleeping, especially in the wild. In domesticated cats, this can be due to a variety of factors, including their diet, exercise level, and overall health. If your cat is sleeping a lot, it's a good idea to talk to your veterinarian about the issue. They may be able to recommend some strategies for increasing your cat's activity level and overall health.
