A Disappointing Shift in Caravan Stories

summarizeEditor's Summary

I've been a loyal Caravan Stories magazine buyer for about five years, but lately, I've been really underwhelmed. The trend of putting actresses on the cover is great, but the articles and interviews are shallow and lack substance. They're all about the latest gossip and scandals, rather than providing real insight or analysis. I'd rather invest in a magazine that provides more in-depth analysis and insight. The big format comes out first, followed by the small one, and the price difference is huge.

A Disappointing Shift in Caravan Stories
Hello everyone!
I've been a loyal buyer of Caravan Stories magazine for about five years now, but lately, I've been really underwhelmed. I only buy the issues that catch my eye, like when they feature an actress I'm interested in.
What's caught my attention is the trend of putting women, actresses, on the cover, and most of the articles and interviews are about actors and actresses. At first, I thought this was a great idea – who doesn't love reading about their favorite celebrities?
But the more I read, the more I realized that the articles were shallow and lacked substance. They're all about the latest gossip and scandals, rather than providing any real insight or analysis.
Caravan Stories comes in two formats: a big one and a small one. The big format comes out first, followed by the small one. The main difference between them seems to be the content and release dates.
Two issues come out every month: one in big format and one in small. The main editors for both are the same, but the price difference is huge: the small format costs 156 rubles in my city, while the big one is 190 rubles.
I've found a great deal on the small format in bulk sales for 50 rubles. I've also seen prices as low as 25 rubles in the past, but those days are long gone.
I used to love buying these magazines and would even shell out the full price. I had a big collection and it was so much fun to read, look at the photos, and learn about actors I wasn't familiar with.
The articles were interesting, lively, and I loved reading them, but now they're dry and uninteresting. I remember the editor-in-chief was a woman, but I'm afraid I've forgotten her name. Under her leadership, the magazines were really engaging and fun to read, but when the editor changed, so did the magazine – for the worse.
I've got four issues with Rina Grishina, Maria Golubkina, Anna Starshbauma, and Evgenia Brik. And now that I've written this review, I'm happy to get rid of them – there's nothing interesting in them, and I feel bad about the 200 rubles I wasted on them. At least I didn't buy them at full price.
Some articles in the magazine are done in the form of interviews, while others are just regular text – a story about a particular star. I used to think interviews were the norm in magazines, but honestly, the written pieces are way more interesting than interviews.
Not a single article in the four magazines I got impressed me. Now I'm kicking myself for not saving those old issues I used to keep.
The only thing I liked about the magazine were the photos. They're stunning, colorful, and vibrant.
I used to love the fact that there were fewer ads in magazines, but now I've noticed there are way more ads, and that's a major turn-off.
I've lost interest in buying Caravan Stories magazine. When I used to read it, I'd unwind and relax, but now the articles are dry and uninteresting. They're all so brief and lacking in substance – there's nothing that grabs my attention. To be honest, I'd rather invest in a magazine that provides more in-depth analysis and insight.
Thanks for your time!
