Blindspotting Falls Flat for Me

summarizeEditor's Summary

I went into Blindspotting with high hopes, but this movie just didn't deliver. The storyline felt forced, the pacing was slow, and the characters didn't quite ring true. I was expecting a gripping drama, but what I got was a messy, overlong film that failed to keep me engaged. The acting was decent, but it wasn't enough to save the movie from its numerous flaws. The themes of social justice and police brutality are timely and thought-provoking, but they're handled heavy-handedly and without subtlety. The cinematography is decent, with some nice shots of the Oakland landscape, but it's not enough to save the movie from its many problems. I wouldn't recommend Blindspotting to anyone looking for a compelling watch.

I just finished watching Blindspotting, and I have to say, it didn't live up to my expectations.
I was really looking forward to it, but unfortunately, it felt like a drag from start to finish.
Blindspotting reviewsGENERAL INFORMATION: Country: USA and Thailand - a weird combo, right?
Duration: 1 hour 52 minutes - way too long for this movie, if you ask me.
Genre: action, drama, melodrama, thriller - a mix that just didn't work for me.
PLOT:
I've got a pretty vivid memory of the day I lost my sight in a freak accident when I was a kid. My parents were there, but they didn't make it. I've built a life for myself since then: music lessons, hanging out with friends, taking care of daily stuff, and I'm happy with my husband, James. But then, doctors gave me a glimmer of hope - I might be able to see again. The wait, the surgery, the treatment, and slowly but surely, my sight starts to return. Years later, I'm seeing this world again, and it's all new to me.
CAST AND ROLES
The two main characters are Gina (Blake Lively) and her husband James (Jason Clarke). Unfortunately, I just couldn't connect with them.
Blindspotting reviewsTHE IDEA BEHIND THE MOVIE Gina lost her sight as a kid, but that didn't stop her from getting married to James. She's living a full life, as much as possible. James is her rock, her support system, but Gina still lives in a world of touch.
Blindspotting reviewsIn her imagination, the world is a completely different place, with different colors, and a completely different husband...
I see only you, reviewsWhen Gina gets the chance to restore her vision in one eye, she agrees, and eventually, she starts to see.
I see only you, reviewsFrom that moment on, her life is completely turned around.
IMPRESSIONThe movie's concept is great, but what I saw on screen was honestly something I wanted to turn off the TV for.
Gina, played by Blake Lively, is a helpless girl who's had an epiphany.
I see only you, reviews Instead of diversifying her life with new, useful hobbies, enjoying her husband, she eventually ended up drinking, smoking, and dancing, and then stumbled upon a wild BDSM party.
I see only you, reviewsI wanted to spit when they showed people having sex in animal masks on the big screen. It's 18+ after all!
I only kept watching because I thought Blake Lively wouldn't be in something as trashy and bad as this.
Gina's subsequent actions left me bewildered! Taking a bath naked with her nephew? Of course, why not! And all that.
I see only you, reviewsThe storyline is weird, very weird.
I didn't like Gina. She's got some pretty weird views on 'enlightenment'.
I see only you, reviewsJames, Gina's husband, is no better.
I see only you, reviewsHe's used to having his wife rely on him for everything, always there and never having her own opinion, which just freaked him out when Gina went from being a girl with limitations to a sexy beauty.
I see only you, reviewsThe control was starting to slip.
I see only you, reviewsAnd you could've supported your wife, helped her discover a new vibrant world, but no! Instead, he started behaving disgustingly. A coward and abuser in one.I see only you, reviewsI see only you, reviewsUsually in drama movies, you feel for the actors. I See Only You left me feeling bewildered and disgusted. I did want to believe that everything would be okay for Gina and James at the beginning of the movie, but each scene just dragged me down into depression and negativity.
And this drag goes on for almost two hours!
Naturally, as many people, there are as many opinions, and some might enjoy I See Only You.
For me, besides Blake Lively, there's nothing good about this movie.
I wouldn't recommend this kind of film.

I was really impressed with how the FTC-1000 handled my daily commutes. The build quality is top-notch, and the battery life exceeded my expectations. I've been using it for a week now, and the buttons still feel solid. I've been charging it every night, and it's still going strong after a week of heavy use. The FTC-1000 is definitely a great value for money, especially considering its price point.
