Hey there! I've been eyeing the Aquamenu® Pro GSK fish food for a while now, and I finally got my hands on it to try out with my fish. It's been a product I've been wanting to try, and I was excited to see if it lived up to the hype.
Aquamenu® Pro GSK Fish Food Aquamenu® Pro GSK Fish FoodDescription:
I've been using the Spirulina-Greens Pellet food for my aquarium, and I've been impressed by its unique blend of spirulina and green peas. It's easy on the digestive system of my fish and the ecosystem as a whole, and even with intense feeding, they produce relatively little ammonia. The best part is that sensitive fish don't need to have it pre-soaked, which makes it a huge time-saver.
The Spirulina-Greens Pellet food (F variant) prevents constipation, 'bloating', and rolling in my fish. It's perfect for daily feeding of herbivorous and most omnivorous freshwater fish of all sizes, such as livebearers (guppies, gouramis, peacock gudgeons, etc.), herbivorous African cichlids (trophy cichlids, pseudo-trophy cichlids, melanochromis, etc.), catfish (anostomids, loricariids, etc.), and marine fish. The Spirulina-Greens Pellet food is a universal flake food that quickly softens in water. My fish love it, both on the surface and in the water column. The binding agents in this food make it more economical by limiting the leaching of nutrients, amino acids, and vitamins while it's in the water. It promotes fast growth and harmonious development in my fish, thanks to its high natural carotenoid content, and helps bring out their vibrant colors.

General Information:
I was pretty stoked to try out this new fish food from Russia, Aquamenu® Pro Fish Food. The developer claims to have created a new formula that's easier on fish digestion, with added nutrients, and won't pollute the water. Sounds like a game-changer to me!
Aquamenu® Pro Fish FoodAppearance. The packaging is a plastic bottle with a protective sleeve and a ring to prevent the food from getting opened accidentally. The design is minimalist, with the name and product image on the front, and some info about the product, usage recommendations, and expiration date.
Aquamenu Pro Fish Food Aquamenu Pro Fish FoodTexture and color. The flakes come in various shapes and sizes, and they break easily and get soggy in water, turning into a soft surface that's easy to tear off even for the little ones. The flakes themselves are chunky and prone to crumbling when handled carelessly. The color is a vibrant green with a slight brown undertone that becomes apparent in certain lighting conditions. It's a uniform and single-toned color throughout.
Aquamenu Pro Fish Food Aquamenu Pro Fish FoodAroma and taste. The smell is earthy, like dried aquatic plants or seaweed. It's got a similar vibe to it all in one package. The fish seem to love it - they gobble it up with gusto, which is not always the case with spirulina-based options. I'd say they genuinely enjoy this food.
Aquamenu® Pro Fish FoodMy Experience
I was surprised by the different types of fish food in the Aquamenu® Pro GSK range. The packaging indicates the type of food, marked with letters, and I have the F version, which is a flake food suitable for a variety of fish species. There are also granules and sizes for different fish, so it's essential to choose the right one before making a purchase.
The granular food comes with a plastic scoop for measuring the dosage, which is not included with the flake food. I also noticed that the packaging sizes vary, from 100 ml to a large 11-liter bucket. I opted for the 250 ml or 50 g mid-size pack, which is perfect for a trial run to see if I'll be making repeat purchases.
My aquarium inhabitants are quite diverse, with multiple tanks and different fish species. The main residents are livebearers like mollies, guppies, and peacekeepers, but I also have catfish and shrimp. I don't have snails in every tank, but they're present in all the food packs. My fish are generally omnivorous.
Aquamenu® Pro Fish FoodUsage Instructions:
You can feed your fish several times a day in small portions.
I wouldn't feed my fish with this food alone every day, even if it's a premium or super premium class. It's better to mix it with other foods. I feed my fish with this one around 3-4 times a week, and I alternate it with other foods. This way, I'm making sure my fish get enough spirulina.
As for herbivorous fish, you can feed them with this food regularly. But I don't have many of those, except for my catfish. You should give them just enough food so that they finish it within 5 minutes. If they're really hungry, you can add a bit more, but it's better to underfeed than overfeed.
Aquamenu®Pro GSC Fish Food1. Effectiveness.
When I talk about effectiveness, I mean seeing clean water, happy fish, and healthy offspring. Since my fish are mostly small, I prefer flake food over pellets. The flakes are easier for them to eat, and even the fry can get a snack from them.
This food absorbs water quickly, which is great for fish digestion. In the past, I used to soak the food beforehand to prevent it from expanding in the fish's stomach. But with this food, you don't need to do that - it floats on the surface for a bit before sinking to the bottom.
Aquamenu®Pro GSC Fish Food is rich in spirulina and oat flour. Spirulina is super beneficial for most fish, especially herbivores. If they're lacking it, they'll develop poorly and overeat on plants. So if you notice your fish eating all the plants, it's likely they need some spirulina.
I've noticed that fish usually don't take to spirulina-based foods (they seem to be a bit harsh on their stomachs), but these flakes are a total hit - they gobble them right up. I supplement with this food, but it's not their main staple. I also never stick to just one brand or type of food - I like to mix it up and rotate between different manufacturers. In my opinion, this food doesn't cloud the water.
As for the flakes themselves, I've been impressed - my aquarium has stayed spotless. Unlike some other foods I've used, which can leave behind pesky crumbs and cloud the water, this one seems to get digested completely. Even the pickiest eaters don't leave any behind, and it's not like I need to crumble it up for them to eat it - they inhale it without issue.
2. Feeding duration.
With Aquamenu Pro GSK, you can feed your fish continuously, but it's a good idea to mix it up with other dry or frozen foods to make sure they're getting a balanced diet. I've been feeding this food until the end of the package, then switching back to a spirulina-based food to keep things interesting.
I usually feed the adults once a day, but I'll give the younger fish a different food for their second meal. Occasionally, I'll space out the feedings to every other day or two, depending on my schedule. And it's no surprise that anabantids love this food - they're herbivores, after all, and can munch on plants like echinodorus if they want to.
Aquamenu® Pro Fish Food3. Diet.
This Aquamenu® Pro Fish Food is one of the dry foods I have, and I've got three of them, plus I freeze some Aquamenu Frozen Brine Shrimp Medium Blister every now and then. This gives my fish all the necessary nutrients, including protein and plant-based components.
My fry grow faster, and the adult fish become brighter and more vibrant than when they were on a single food source. I alternate between the different foods every other day so that each fish gets a chance to eat regardless of the package. I usually feed them once or twice a day, depending on the age of the pets.
Aquamenu® Pro Fish Food4. Who is it for?
This fish food is suitable for all fish, regardless of age or size. The small fish love the tiny shrimp and brine shrimp flakes, while the larger fish enjoy the bigger flakes. Even the pike perch enjoy it, but they don't always get it because the other fish are quicker and more agile.
Aquamenu® Pro Fish Food is a versatile option for fish food. It's great for community tanks with a mixed population and for species-specific tanks. It's also convenient for those who don't want to feed live food or like to mix things up for their fish.
Aquamenu® Pro Fish Food5. Cost-Effectiveness.
I've found the Aquamenu® Pro Fish Food to be pretty economical, especially considering I have a large school of fish. The key is to feed them in small portions and avoid overfeeding. It's lasted me around 2-2.5 months so far, and I've been alternating it with other foods. If you have only one aquarium, it should last even longer.
As for the cost, it's not the cheapest option. It's priced around 300 rubles for 50 grams, although I did manage to get a discount. Without it, the price is more like 400 rubles for a similar container. So, this new food needs to be just as good as the imported brands, or it's not worth it.

✧✧✧VERDICT✧✧✧
I've tried Aquamenu® Pro GSK fish food, and it's a solid option, but nothing out of the ordinary. There are plenty of other good fish foods out there, so if you're expecting a game-changer, you might be disappointed. I didn't experience the 'dive-bombing' effect I'd heard about - my fish just eat it like any other food. One thing I do like is the variety of sizes and shapes, as well as the protective packaging and ring on the box. It doesn't cloud the water, and it contains spirulina, which is a plus. My main gripes are that it's a bit pricey without a discount, there's no measuring scoop, and it doesn't live up to the hype in some reviews. Overall, I'd still recommend it, but with some caveats - that's why I'm giving it 4 stars.
