Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well!
I've finally gotten around to watching the new Netflix sensation, and I'm so glad I did!
I'd heard a lot of buzz about it, and I have to say, it really pulls at the heartstrings. It's a show that'll keep you guessing until the very end.
I went into this show without high expectations, but with a curiosity to see what all the fuss was about, and before I knew it, I'd binge-watched the entire series without taking a break. It's a real page-turner, and I loved every minute of it.
His & Hers (2026, series)At first glance, the show seems like a pretty standard whodunit - a small town, a gruesome murder, a dark atmosphere, and a cast of suspects with secrets. But as I kept watching, I realized that the show's trying to be more than just a murder mystery - it's a story about people, their pasts, and the choices they make.

The show dropped in January 2026 and consists of just 6 episodes. I love how compact it is - each episode moves the story forward, adds new details, and sometimes even flips my perspective on the characters. It's a really well-crafted narrative, and I appreciated the attention to detail.
This is my absolute favorite thing about it - the way the show slowly builds up to the finale, keeping you on the edge of your seat.

PLOT
The story kicks off with a young woman's murder in a tiny American town. This event sends shockwaves through the community and sets the stage for the entire narrative. As a former TV journalist, I've had my fair share of experience with investigations, and this one feels particularly personal.
I've been back in this town for a while now, and I've got a personal connection to the case. My husband, Jack, is a detective, and he's also working on the case. Our relationship is... complicated, to say the least. We've been through a lot together, and there's a lot of unspoken tension between us. But we know each other too well, and that's what makes it so hard.
We've got a group of five friends who went through high school together, and their past is still having a significant impact on their lives today. These echoes from the past are crucial to understanding the present. Each character has their own secrets and motivations, and it's fascinating to see how they all fit together.
IMPRESSIONS
The show takes its time, and at first, it seems like it's moving at a snail's pace - especially with only six episodes. But that's just the calm before the storm. As the series progresses, it slowly introduces us to this small town, its residents, and their complex pasts. The attention to detail is impressive, from the conversations to the subtle glances and everyday moments that initially seem insignificant but end up being crucial to the story.
One of the biggest pluses of the 'He and She' series is the characters. They're not perfect, and I didn't always find myself rooting for them, but those emotional ups and downs - that's a 100% win for the directors. The cast does a great job of bringing depth and nuance to their characters.
Main Characters:
Anna - complex. She's pretty smart, observant, sometimes sharp and stubborn. Some of her actions really got on my nerves, but at the same time, it's easy to understand why she's like that. We're shown her exhaustion from the past and her desire to change something. I found myself feeling frustrated with her at times, but also empathetic.
His & Hers (2026, series)His & Hers (2026, series)Jack is the quintessential tough-as-nails detective at first glance. Classic stuff. But I slowly realized that beneath all that tough exterior, he's a man living in a state of constant tension. He just doesn't like talking about his feelings, but they're always showing themselves in his actions and reactions. I found his character to be particularly well-developed.
The supporting cast is impressive, and they all play a crucial role. We've got friends, colleagues, and family members of Anna and Jack, each with their own murky backstory and perspective on things. The show does a great job of showing how everyone's connected in this small town, and how past events continue to shape the present.
His & Hers (2026, series)What really stood out to me were the performances from the cast. Tessa Thompson nailed her role as Anna, and John Bernthal brought a great sense of intensity to his portrayal of Jack. He avoided coming across as cartoonish or over-the-top, which was impressive given the emotional weight of his character. Their chemistry on screen was undeniable.
Their scenes together were some of the most passionate in the series. You could really feel the tension building!
His & Hers (2026, series) ATMOSPHERE
The mood of His & Hers is dark and oppressively heavy. There's hardly any bright colors in this show. The small town they're set in feels like a place where everyone remembers everything and people don't forget a thing...
I really liked how they cast the actresses who played the characters 20 years ago – it was awesome! And they did a great job of capturing the atmosphere too.
The camera lingers on the characters' faces a lot, creating a sense of closeness and tension. This really added to the overall atmosphere of the show.
The story unfolds gradually, without any sudden jumps, and this pace slowly draws you into what's happening. And let's be honest, this isn't a show you can just have on in the background – it demands your attention!! The music is really well-integrated into the narrative.
Music isn't like in Raviole Oli – it doesn't distract. It just keeps the mood going.

THE END
I was dying to tell you what happens at the end!!)
Without any spoilers, but this is important - the last 15 minutes of the series just blew my mind. I'm speechless!! One emotional rollercoaster.
This is one of those rare cases where the finale completely flips your perspective on everything that came before!
The aftertaste is so strong that you'll want to sit back for a few minutes and replay the previous episodes in your head. What just happened?!..
The finale isn't exactly easy to watch or pleasant, but I've got to give credit to the writers - they leave you with emotions! And that's the biggest plus for me.
'Him and Her' is a solid detective mini-series that focuses on characters, psychology, and atmosphere.
If you're a fan of stories about secrets, ambiguous pasts, complicated relationships, and unexpected plot twists in the finale - this series is definitely worth checking out. And that finale? It's explosive!
I highly recommend it!
