My Experience with the Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III: A Cautionary Tale

I, like many others, fell for the allure of this camera. Everywhere I looked, there were stunning photos of beautiful women and breathtaking Maldivian sunsets. While a Maldivian sunset may be out of my budget, I thought the camera was a more achievable goal.

The fact that it was hard to find in stores only piqued my interest.

It's like the old Daisy ad, where everyone wanted one, but you couldn't find it in a reputable store.

And when you could find it, the prices were exorbitant.

I finally found a friend who had connections in China and a Canon store. I decided to take the plunge and ordered the camera. The price, including conversion, was around 120,000 RUB. I didn't have to pay for shipping, which was a bonus.

I was hesitant to buy from a third-party seller, fearing counterfeit products. At the time, the camera was selling on Ozon and Yandex Market for 160,000 RUB.

I figured, why not buy from the original manufacturer at a lower price?

The camera arrived within a week.

The long-awaited package brought me so much joy... at first.

In the end, I decided to sell the camera after about 1.5 months. I listed it on Avito for 80,000 RUB, 100,000 RUB, and 70,000 RUB. I was lucky to have a buyer who was looking for a gift for a female friend.

I sold it for 95,000 RUB and was over the moon.

This camera is a luxury item, and it shouldn't cost so much. It's a marketing ploy to give it away to influencers and promote it heavily.

While it's a working tactic, I wouldn't recommend this camera, especially if you plan to take photos beyond selfies.

For example, I use my Canon M50 to take product photos for my website, and it delivers excellent results.
