➡️ Description, Burning, Aroma
The candles arrived in a cardboard box and bubble wrap - I checked the packaging for any damage at the post office.
This candle is a solid soy wax with a wooden wick in a glass jar with a lid.
The packaging is super minimal - just the jar and a white sticker with the name. There's no info about the manufacturer or ingredients.
First time lighting the candle, burn it for 40-50 minutes to get the wax melted evenly. Don't burn the candle for more than 2 hours at a time to avoid overheating the glass! Cover the flame with the lid - if you blow out the candle, the aroma might get ruined. If the flame is too weak, carefully remove some wax near the wick to help it get stronger.
The wick is wooden and flat, and there's a ton of wax - it fills the entire jar right up to the top.The aroma is amazing, with cinnamon dominating and orange in the background.
The candle lights easily with just one match.
Langiza Candle - Orange and CinnamonI've got to say, the two Langiza candles I've got here are pretty cool. One's got a spicy mulled wine scent, and the other's got a nice orange and cinnamon vibe. I've already burned the mulled wine one before, so this is its second go-round - and let me tell you, it's burning brighter, longer, and with a bigger flame than the orange one.The soy wax melts way slower than the paraffin stuff, which is a total game-changer. Unlike regular candles where some of the wax just evaporates or drips down the sides, this Langiza candle's wax melts evenly and forms a nice pool of liquid wax that covers the whole surface. These Langiza candles burn nice and steady, with a decent flame.Langiza Candle - Orange and CinnamonThe atmosphere they create is cozy, romantic, and totally winter-y. But, to be honest, the scent is more like what you'd find in a church - I barely smell the orange or cinnamon. It's mostly just the wax and the wooden wick.My space doesn't get aromatized, either.
I was really looking forward to the soothing crackle sound, but it's more like uneven tapping. I tried to read a book while the candle was burning, but the sound drove me nuts - it's not calming at all. I don't know why, since I love the sound of a campfire or raindrops on the roof.
These candles last way longer than your average paraffin candles.
So, the verdict is...
super affordable, considering how long they burnsuper stylish and minimalist - they'll fit in with any decorCons:
I'm not a huge fan of the weird sound it makes when it's burning - it's kinda jarring, you know? But the real kicker is when the scent changes after heating the wax, and it smells like you're in a church with all these incense sticks burningThe pros totally outweigh the cons for me. I'm really impressed with these candles overall, and the price is totally justified by how long they last. If only the scent were a bit more on point, it'd be a solid 10/10. As it is, I'd still highly recommend them!
