Specifications
I'm a total wireless earbuds fanatic - they've made life so much easier and more convenient that I don't know how I ever managed without them. The last earbuds I had, despite being budget-friendly, served me for about 20 years and finally broke after I washed a jacket with them in the pocket. Of course, I immediately started looking for a replacement, which coincided with the New Year's holidays. And since I wasn't hiding my search, I got these amazing Huawei Freebuds 6i under the Christmas tree.
I've been buying products from Huawei at almost every electronics store or mobile phone salon - they're pretty ubiquitous. Sometimes they even give them away for free when you buy a smartphone, but that's super rare. Even with discounts, these babies cost almost 200 Belarusian rubles, which is the most I've ever spent on earbuds. They come in three colors, and I'm absolutely loving the purple ones.
They come in a cardboard box that looks super cute, with a photo of the earbuds on the front - exactly in the color you choose. The box was also wrapped in plastic, making it a super comfortable packaging.
When I opened the box, the back had all the key specs listed. There's a sticker with the Russian translation and all the importer's details. I've got to say, it's nice to see the specs right there, no need to dig through a manual or anything. On top, the earbuds themselves come in a protective case that you need to remove before use. It's a bit of a pain, but I guess it's worth it to keep them safe. The package includes ear tips in two sizes, S and L, as well as a charging cable. I was a bit disappointed that there's no power bank included, but I guess that's not super common even with phones. Still, the cable is a bit too short for my liking, even with an adapter. The case is super stylish, and I love the matte finish. The front has a sensor that shows the charge level, which is really convenient. It's easy to figure out, too - it lights up like a traffic light: green means it's fully charged, orange means it's halfway or less, and red means it's running low. The only downside is that the matte finish scratches easily, so I ended up getting a case to protect it. The design is really nice, and the case feels comfortable in your hand. It's a bit wider than some earbuds I've seen, but its compact size makes it look pretty sleek. On one side of the case, there's a button that helps you pair the earbuds with your device. The case opens easily, thanks to the magnetic lid. I try not to slam it shut, but sometimes it closes a bit too firmly - just keep an eye on it. The big plus is that they won't accidentally open in your bag - I've had no issues carrying them in my backpack or pockets. The earbuds themselves stay in the case on magnets, which is really convenient. I deliberately chose earbuds with 'legs' - all the others are just uncomfortable and prone to falling out. These ones stay put, no matter what I'm doing.Day two was a breeze with these earbuds, and I was stoked to see how they'd hold up. I mean, when you're shelling out a pretty penny for a good brand, you don't want to lose one on the first day. Getting them out of the case can be a bit of a pain at first, but it's something you get used to quickly.
The earbuds themselves are small, but not tiny, so even if you toss them in your pocket without the case, they're not going anywhere. The case, on the other hand, is glossy and feels great in your hand. The ear tips look a bit loose, but they're actually pretty secure. I had to switch to a smaller size, and that fixed the issue of one earbud constantly falling out.
When you get the ear tips just right, these earbuds fit like a glove. You can control the music by tapping on the earbud itself, but it's not easy to do accidentally. I also love that if you take one earbud out, the music pauses, and when you put it back in, it starts playing again.
To get the most out of these earbuds, you'll want to download the app, which is included on the box. From there, you can adjust the settings, check the sound, and even turn on noise cancellation. But honestly, you can do most of that right from the earbuds themselves. The noise cancellation is top-notch, and it really does block out all the background noise, even on a busy street. The sound is crystal clear, and it's a total game-changer. I was blown away by how far these earbuds can reach - I can walk out the door with my phone still in the house and still get a great signal. And the best part? They're super durable. I've been using them nonstop for days, and they still look and sound brand new.
These Huawei FreeBuds 6i are my go-to earbuds, and I'm obsessed. The sound is incredible, and I find myself falling in love with them all over again every time I use them. They're hands-down the best earbuds I've ever used, and I highly recommend giving them a try.
