- We got to the hotel, only to find out our room was already occupied – talk about a nightmare.
- The whole experience was a total letdown, to be honest.
- Fun & Sun didn't even apologize for the mess they made – that was a major red flag.
- The charter flight was with Turkish Airlines, which was fine, but Azur Air for the return was a bit of a gamble.

Hello there,
I'm so glad I didn't bother reading reviews about Fun & Sun before booking our Turkey trip, or we might've changed our tour operator. I mean, their rating is pretty low, and I was convinced the issues were with the hotel, but after reading reviews, I realized it was more the tour operator's fault. So, let's get into the nitty-gritty.
I'll be sharing our experience with Fun & Sun in Turkey this summer – how everything was organized, the good and the bad.
Fun & Sun reviews
Let's start with the flightSince we booked a package tour, our flight was a charter. We flew with Turkish Airlines to get there and Azur Air to come back. No delays on either side, and we landed safely – but let's be real, that's not exactly Fun & Sun's doing, kudos to the pilots and airlines in general.
Tour operator FUN&SUN Turkey AlanyaAfter landing in Turkey, we found the Fun & Sun desk at the airport exit to the right. We grabbed our bus number and headed over. The bus was small but decent – not brand new, but it was comfy.
Fun & Sun Turkey Alanya reviewsTransfer to the hotelThe driver helped us load our luggage. We were a full bus, and some people didn't have seats, so they had to hold a kid on their lap. Our hotel was the farthest, so we were on the road for about 3 hours. We stopped at a roadside complex along the way, where you could grab some food, souvenirs, or use the restroom. I was a bit taken aback by how dirty it was – I mean, it was literally 5 meters away from this:
Excursions Fun & Sun Turkey reviewsThe driver was careful, but he took a few wrong turns – we ended up circling a pretty run-down village to the left of the highway when we should've gone right, and we passed the same roundabout a few times. I'm not sure if the driver was skipping turns or just lost, but after that night flight, it was exhausting.
So, we arrive at the hotel, and things start to go downhill fast. Our room's already occupied, and they're offering to move us to another hotel in the same chain for one night. They promise it's just as good, that we'll get picked up by 9 am, and that our room will come with some sweet perks... yeah, right.
I've got to say, we were pretty bummed with the hotel's service. We booked a five-star hotel, but what we got was more like a three-star experience. The next morning, we're waiting to get picked up at 9 am, but it ends up being a 30-minute drive to get to the hotel. And to make matters worse, there's only one tiny Lada Largus to take all of us. I mean, why not just send a bigger bus or have a schedule to pick people up every 30 minutes? But no, that would be too easy. Instead, we end up waiting until 11:30 am, and even then, it's after a bit of an argument with the reception staff. They basically tell us that it's the fault of the five-star hotel we booked, and that we should be talking to them instead.
So, already on the second day of our 12-day trip, things are not going as smoothly as we had hoped. When we arrive, we're greeted with another surprise - our room isn't ready. Apparently, the previous guests are still in the room, and it hasn't been cleaned yet. We're given a temporary room, and told to go swimming for a couple of hours and then come back to our room. I mean, can you imagine having to unpack and repack your bags, just to go swimming and then come back and do it all again?
So, we end up skipping the swimming and just hanging out at the hotel for a couple of hours, having lunch and then finally getting to our room. I was thinking that maybe it was just a one-off mistake, but then I see that a lot of other tourists are having the same problem, so I'm guessing it's more of a tour operator issue.
Hotel GuidesOur hotel guide was a total letdown. I count three different guides working at the hotel, and we get the one who's the most pushy and money-hungry. The prices for the excursions he's offering are outrageous, and he won't even give us a printed price list. He'd just give us the name of the excursion and then tell us the price. I'm not saying he's definitely overcharging us by $100, but it definitely seems like it. Here are some examples of the prices he's quoting:
I've gotta say, the cherry on top of our terrible experience with this tour operator was the hotel rep who was more interested in selling us on their overpriced excursions than actually helping us with our problems. When I asked him to write down our names for the excursion, I was like, 'Hey, what's the point if we can't even cancel if we change our minds?' It just seemed like a total scam to me.
But hey, the bus ride back to the airport was actually pretty sweet - we got to ride in a sick Mercedes bus that was huge and super comfy. The only downside was the bus driver, who seemed completely clueless. I mean, I had to ask him if we could even bring our carry-on bags on board. And to make matters worse, the rep who met us at the airport in Turkey didn't even give us any info about the country. I've been on trips before where the reps at least gave us a little background on the place we were visiting.

THE BOTTOM LINE
I'm not exactly thrilled with this tour operator. The whole check-in process was a total mess, and the hotel rep just seemed like they were trying to make a quick buck off of us. I mean, we ended up paying $133 for a boat tour that we could've booked through the tour company for $65. That's just ridiculous.
Tour Operator FUN&SUN reviewsI guess what really gets me is that it feels like nobody cares - not the hotel, not the tour operator, not the hotel rep. I don't know if other tour operators are better, but I expected more from fun sun.
FUN&SUN reviewsI'm just gonna say it - I wanted more attention, less hassle, and a chance to just relax in my hotel room without all the moving around. I guess, considering how other trips have gone, I should be grateful that ours even happened.
Three stars from me.
Thanks for reading!
