Wild Adventure: A Thrilling Mix of Comedy and Survival

Editor's Summary
Wild is a thrilling mix of comedy and survival, with stunning visuals and a clever idea. The film takes a dark turn, introducing crime and violence, but remains engaging. I recommend it to fans of genre-bending films.
Movie Review
This film was on my watchlist as a comedy, and the description matched, promising an entertaining evening with a lighthearted 'survival' story about a Moscow socialite in the wilderness:
Alena, a young model, dreams of conquering Moscow. At a party, she meets Egor, who invites her to fly with him to Nice on his plane. However, instead of the luxurious destination, they land in Yakutia, where Alena finds herself alone in the wild. With no phone signal and no food, can the city girl survive, using only her nail clipper, lip gloss, and a pesky white rabbit for company?
Acting and Visuals
The beginning was captivating, with an interesting storyline and beautiful visuals. The lead actress, Taissia Vilkova, played the role of a bohemian girl convincingly.
I never thought of Taissia as an actress who could play a model, but her makeup and hairstyle made her look the part. Her physique, which is prominent in the film, is also a pleasant sight.
For me, Taissia is the heroine from the TV series 'Gogol' - that role seems more suitable for her, with her style, makeup, and demeanor.
However, in 'Wild', she did an excellent job.
Genre and Plot
I remembered why I recently heard about her, and it reminded me that her co-star in the series 'El Russo' is her husband, Semen Serzin, who impressed me with his Argentine Spanish. They recently became parents.
After pregnancy and childbirth, it's impressive to see her in such a fit state in the film.
Our heroine finds herself unexpectedly in the Yakutian wilderness. Initially, she's a beautiful sight on a luxury yacht with champagne and a local oligarch who knows the area.
However, things take a turn for the worse, and her life becomes a nightmare, which even a more bohemian person might struggle to cope with.
Her only tools are the contents of her small, fashionable handbag.
The only bright spot in this is the adorable white rabbit that attaches itself to her. Unfortunately, it has a not-so-bright reason for doing so.
Genre and Plot
The first part of the film can be called a comedy, albeit a quirky one. The humor is situational, and the idea of flying to Nice but landing in Yakutia is an interesting twist.
However, around a third of the way through, the film takes a dark turn, introducing crime, violence, and survival elements that I wasn't expecting.
The film then shifts to a mix of genres, including family drama, mystery, and surrealism.
Despite the genre-bending, the film remains engaging, especially if you know what to expect. I watch comedies to relax and laugh, not to watch violence and gore.
The film's visuals are stunning, with breathtaking landscapes of Yakutia. The actors perform well, and the idea is clever.
In conclusion, I recommend 'Wild' to fans of films that defy genre conventions.
And, as always, nature remains beautiful and awe-inspiring.
