Russia Travel Insurance: A Terrible Experience I Wish I Hadn't Had

I usually buy insurance from different companies each year, as I am always insured for long-term foreign travel. Generally, especially when traveling with a tour package that includes insurance, I ask the same questions: 'What does this insurance cover?' or 'How much extra does this insurance cost?'
One of the key factors for me is understanding the insurance company's approach to creating the insurance package. I carefully review the package created by the insurance company and think whether it's worth it. This year, I also bought Rosgosstrakh's insurance.
Policy Purchase and Duration: The policy purchase process with Rosgosstrakh was very easy for me. Considering long-term foreign travel, I was given a 15% discount code, which was a very good thing. I received very good service from Rosgosstrakh during the policy purchase process. After the policy purchase was completed, they called me to check all the information, which made me feel very relieved. They sent me policy examples, and I reviewed all the information. After the policy purchase was completed, a link was sent to me, and I paid the policy premium through that link. The policy was sent to me, and I know that this is very important for me.
Additionally, Rosgosstrakh has an advantage: If I need to postpone my trip, they will give me an additional 2 weeks.
Policy Premium: The policy premium from Rosgosstrakh was very suitable for me. One of the notable points is that individuals pay different premiums based on their age. They will handle all the necessary procedures to reach you. All the healthcare expenses provided to you will also be covered. They will even help you find the doctor who prescribed your medication and will reimburse the cost of the medication.
Generally, this is a process we are all accustomed to in such situations. However, for people like us, who are used to traveling frequently and buying insurance, such a situation can be very stressful.
We also experienced such a situation, and it was very stressful. We stayed at the Aperion Beach Hotel and then at a house in another area. In a stressful situation, our child was injured, which led to us contacting our insurance company.
How to Contact the Insurance Company? Generally, you should contact the insurance company through the phone number provided in the policy or through the Vatandaşın Apı (Vatandaşın Appı) application. However, in some cases, such as ours, it may be difficult to reach them. For example, when we called the phone number provided in our policy, we were met with short beeps. Therefore, we sent a message through the Vatandaşın Apı application, but unfortunately, we did not receive any response.
Even in a situation that lasts for an hour, it may require a payment of 20 to 30 rubles. Therefore, we changed our Russian SIM card and contacted them from a Moscow number. When they contacted me, they said they would arrive within an hour. However, it took them an hour and a half to arrive. Then, a text message was sent to my passport for verification.
MSN Warning Message: Any communication record will be deleted within 90 days. Maybe this is something the insurance companies do to prevent false claims. If a problem arises, don't forget this warning and save a copy.
Transportation: I sent another message an hour later and asked how long it would take. However, no one replied.
Rus Gosstrah Communication: After two hours, I contacted them again using my Russian SIM card and called their number. However, no one replied. Then, I spoke with a manager, who said they would send us an address for the hospital. What about the transfer? - I asked. No, we can't do that. - the manager replied. No, we can't do that. - the manager replied. This was too absurd, and my wife also came to help me. We waited for 15 more minutes, but no one replied. Then, we decided to go to the hospital by car. On the way, they called us again and said the transfer had been paid. However, when I asked how it was paid, they couldn't answer. The manager just kept saying, 'Get the receipt from the taxi driver.' I didn't understand what this meant, and I said, 'There's no place to get a receipt from the taxi driver here.' The manager was unable to answer.
Hospital Name: We used Acibadem Hospital, which is very expensive.
Generally, it was much less stressful, and the insurance company did much less to scare us!
Conclusion: I almost finished writing this article a week ago, but they called us from the hospital about the policy, and I didn't want to ask them questions, so I decided to finish writing this article. This was a natural thing for me to do.
For the past week, we have been trying to contact Rosgosstrah, but they called us again. They were a bit panicked, and one of their employees called us and said we hadn't paid our bills. If this continues, they will send us the bill.
I told them that this was not our problem and that we didn't need to inform them. They asked the same question again, and we didn't get an answer. They didn't say no either. I think this is not very professional, and it's not suitable for adults.
This experience completely changed my opinion about the company. I now rate them 3 out of 10. The company's business approach and work style, as well as their attitude towards customers, are very bad.
