Our family has always been passionate about exploring historical landmarks, museums, and other significant sites together. As our little girl is starting school, we're excited to continue this tradition and make it a regular part of our routine.
Engaging children in such activities not only helps them learn more about history but also aids in understanding their school curriculum better.
When our daughter was about to start school in November, her teachers recommended that she read Lermontov's stories. We decided to visit Lermontov's house, which was a great opportunity for our children to learn more about this famous Russian writer and his life.
My home is everywhere,

As we entered our own home, I was reminded of my grandmother's house, where I spent my childhood. My mother told me that Lermontov's father lived in a similar house in Moscow's city center, and it was like living like a king.
The garden of Lermontov's house was quite fascinating, but unfortunately, I didn't take any photos. From the outside, it didn't look as beautiful as I had imagined, but inside, there was a unique atmosphere, especially during the spring or summer when you could sit in the garden and feel like you're in a dream.
However, the hallway had a completely different atmosphere, one that was more modern and less romantic.
When we arrived at Lermontov's house, we were greeted by the museum staff, who explained the rules of the tour. They told us that one group had already started, and we could join them after purchasing our tickets and being quiet.
But, of course, there was no guarantee that no one would be there or that we wouldn't be disturbed.
We were a bit hesitant at first, but eventually, we decided to continue our visit.
Some rooms were closed, and the main entrance was also closed. We started by visiting 'Babushka's' room, which was quite amusing.
The walls of the rooms were decorated with portraits of the house's owners, artwork, and engravings.
I noticed a young Lermontov in one of the portraits, who was about 3-4 years old.
Thanks to the information notes in each room, I was able to learn more about Lermontov's life and work.
The most impressive rooms were the grand hall and Lermontov's study. The grand hall was where Lermontov would often play music and receive guests, while his study was where he would write his works and be alone.
Lermontov's study was decorated with portraits of his friends and acquaintances, as well as artwork and engravings that reflected his love of gambling and writing.
Lermontov's house was like a poem, with every room telling a story about his life and work.
Each room had its own unique charm, and I was fascinated by the details that reflected Lermontov's personality and way of life.
When we visited Lermontov's house in 2025, we were saddened to see that the once-beautiful garden and landscape had been destroyed by the construction of a massive building.
It was a bittersweet experience, but one that I will always treasure.
When you visit Lermontov's house, take a moment to imagine yourself in his shoes, to feel the emotions and thoughts that he experienced in this very place.
It's a truly unforgettable experience, one that will stay with you forever.
I still have a piece of myself left in this house, and I will return someday.
