iMall Review

iMall, located in the heart of Perm, at the intersection of Petropavlovskaya and Popov streets, opposite the Agricultural Bank, is a new shopping mall that opened in the summer of 2022.

During my last visit to iMall, I spent almost a day there with my son, who was participating in a chess tournament. This gave me the opportunity to explore the mall in detail, and I'll share my findings with you.

Exterior and Ambiance

iMall is easily visible from the Eспланада in the center of Perm. However, I think the facade could be improved - the red-orange color scheme seems a bit strange to me. In the center, there's a large advertisement screen, and the surrounding area is lined with glass panels.

Below the screen, there's the main entrance to the mall, which is equipped with automatic sliding doors that often don't work, causing a bit of chaos at the entrances.

At the entrance, there's a beautiful liquid light installation, and nearby, there's a panoramic elevator that serves all four floors. The elevator is located at the top of the 1st floor and at the bottom of the 3rd floor.

The 1st floor is home to several stores, including MVideo, Galamart, Perkrestok, and a parking lot on the -2nd floor.

From the 2nd floor onwards, there are two different panoramic elevators. However, only one of them can take you to the 3rd floor (where the cinema is located), while the other one can take you to the 4th floor. The 4th floor features a shopping center, restaurants, and an amusement park.

Interior and Layout

During my visit, I had the opportunity to explore the interior of iMall in detail. The food court, which was set up near the main entrance, was a great place to relax and enjoy some food while watching the chess tournament. The area was well-organized, and there were plenty of tables available. I was impressed by the design of the food court, which featured a unique 'island' concept with elevated seating areas. The kubbe above the food court was adorned with beautiful, modern lighting fixtures.

The food court offered a wide variety of cuisines, including Russian (Blynnyaya Skovorodka, Sem Dvoikh Palochek), European (DonAvocado, Pizza point), and Asian (suşi WOKE, Vostok-Papa) options, as well as fast food (Chicken, KFC). The staff was friendly, and the overall cleanliness of the food court was good.

From the food court, you could access the free outdoor terrace, which offered a great view of the surrounding area. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the large glass screens provided a comfortable outdoor experience. However, I did notice some litter on the terrace, and some visitors were being loud and rowdy.

Children's Area and Entertainment

On the 4th floor, there's a children's park that's perfect for kids of all ages. The park features a variety of activities, including a carousel, a play area, and a dinosaur exhibit. The park is well-maintained and offers a great place for kids to burn off energy.

I also visited the Lego store, which features a wide range of Lego models and sets. The store is a must-visit for any Lego fan.

Additionally, there's an interactive film studio on the 4th floor, although I didn't have a chance to visit it.

For kids, there's a train that runs on the 3rd floor, as well as a children's store and a hobby market called Leornado.

Shopping and Services

iMall features a wide range of stores, including clothing, shoes, cosmetics, and accessories. The 1st floor is home to several high-end stores, including OSTIN, Reserved, Colin's, Milavitsa, Zarina, Altın Elma, Randevu, and SporMastır. There are plans to open even more stores in the future.

iMall's advantages include its spacious and airy design, which is perfect for hot summer days. The mall is also well-maintained, with modern and clean restrooms available on every floor. However, I did notice that sometimes the restrooms were a bit short on essentials like toilet paper and paper towels.

Another advantage of iMall is its location, which is close to several other shopping centers, including Aisberg, Kolizey, ÇUM, Almaz, Petropavlovskiy, and Piramid.

Disadvantages

One of the disadvantages of iMall is its confusing layout, which can make it difficult to navigate. I also noticed that there were several duplicate stores, which might be a bit overwhelming for some visitors.

On the 4th floor, I was expecting to see a more modern and sleek design, but instead, I found a somewhat outdated and worn-out area. However, I did notice that there were plans to renovate the area in the future.

Overall, iMall is a great shopping mall that offers a wide range of stores, services, and entertainment options. While it has its disadvantages, I think it's a great addition to the city of Perm.
