Battlefield 4: A Fun War Experience 13 Years Later
I recently discovered the players and was thinking about what to play. I haven't had time to play games lately, I can usually play for one or two free evenings, but that's not enough to complete a game, especially some small, old shooters like... For example, I recently completed Battlefield 3, which was released 15 years ago and was really fun! It's still very current! So, I decided to take a look at the 4th part of the Battlefield series in its current state.
Battlefield 4 is a first-person shooter game released in 2013! That's almost 13 years ago. The game was developed by the DICE studio. By the way, DICE released Battlefield 6 in 2025, but I think this game deserves the "Game of the Year" award. I'm still playing Battlefield 4 on Xbox Series S and Game Pass Ultimate.
Story
When I played Battlefield 4 in early 2026, I learned something really important and emotional! How did it happen that simple, corridor-like shooter games like this are almost extinct? Now, every developer is moving away from simple stories and focusing on online components. Those were the good old days...
The story of Battlefield 4 is simple and banal for its time. The game's protagonists, a US Marine Corps unit called "Mogilşık - 1", are in the middle of a global conflict between the US, China, and Russia. The story is particularly interesting when they try to evacuate VIPs in Shanghai.
The story tries to focus almost entirely on the war. The war breaks out globally between the US and China. Especially, most of the story tries to focus on the war. It's clear that analyzing the story is pointless. The story is full of holes, questions, and inconsistencies. This is actually a shooter game, but following the story is not bad at all!
Game-Related
The game is a zubodrobıt eksan, really! I don't even take a minute to pause! There's always something happening on the screen, it's incredible! We're operating in Baku, we're evacuating quickly, we're experiencing the collapse of the high-rise building on the road. We're kicking our commander!
I also really enjoyed it, I didn't even get cold for a minute. There's a unique özü silah collection, you feel each one is special, the shots are beautiful, the av sounds...
Graphics
First, I opened Battlefield 3 and looked at the graphics. I still remember the old models, but there was a beautiful graphics. Battlefield 4 didn't have that feeling. Especially when playing on 4K TVs, the graphics were very good. However, the character textures and models seemed a bit outdated. But the lighting, destroyed buildings, large areas, and moving water graphics still looked good.
Technical Status
About an hour ago, I started and was playing Battlefield 4, which showed a 13-year-old past. First, I remembered that DICE released the game in 2013, and it was released in a state that was optimized to be terrible. Buggy, glitchy, and in many ways still in beta. Now, 13 years later, I completed the game without any problems. No freezes, no crashes. Especially when playing Battlefield 3, I was happy that I could play it on Xbox, although I had to use my old saves and skip a mission.
Verbal Combat
I never participated in verbal combat, I think it's old-fashioned and takes too much time. But 10 years ago, I played Battlefield 4 for 24 hours with my friends and had a great time. Battlefield 4 had a very successful multiplayer mode, which some gamers still consider the best. I also checked the Xbox situation. There are working servers and players! If you want to join, there's no problem. Battlefield 3's servers are even better than Battlefield 4's.
Conclusion
Battlefield 4 is a very fun war game in 2026. It's really like watching a Hollywood movie, very fun. I'm very satisfied! I played this game four times.
DICE's real goal was not to make Battlefield 4 a deep political drama or a clever trilogy, but to make it like a Hollywood movie that attracts the most viewers. And they succeeded. When you see the game's tempo and intensity, you understand what I mean.
The truth of this game is not its tempo and intensity. The tempo and intensity are what leave you speechless and make you want to play the game. The real goal of the game is to make you experience a real war movie.
13 years later, the approach of this game is very nostalgic. You can experience a simple but very fun experience in the game. Never forget the real goal of the game. Battlefield 4 is a very fun and dynamic war movie. It was designed to make players experience a fun experience.
Avowed, in my opinion, is Game Pass's newest realistic game. After playing it for a few hours, I couldn't stop playing it.
