Editor's Summary
I used to get by with a measly 20 channels from my old non-satellite antenna and digital box. But when free channels started popping up, I upgraded my box multiple times. By the time the warranty expired, my old box was a total dud. It'd either break down, lose channels, or only display the first 10 or last 10 channels, even with decent reception. I was done with my old box, so I turned to MTS and got a new satellite TV system installed. It's been working smoothly for a year now, and I'm loving the extra channels and improved reception.

Satellite TV Upgrade That Saved the Day
I used to get by with just 20 channels from my old non-satellite antenna and digital box. Honestly, it was enough for me, but I'd swap boxes every now and then. But when they started broadcasting 20 free channels, I upgraded my box three or four times. By the time the warranty expired – usually a year or two – my old box was a total letdown. It'd either break down, start losing channels, or only display the first 10 or last 10 channels, even with decent reception.
I'd had it with my old box, so I turned to MTS. I didn't buy from their stores, though – it's way cheaper online, and I'd read some not-so-great reviews about buying from their stores. Instead, I found a dealer, set up an appointment, and had them install the antenna, run the cable, and connect my new box. I configured the channels with auto-search, and it's been working smoothly for a year now.
At first glance, you'd think I have over 900 channels to choose from. But there's a catch – the first 20 channels are duplicated across different time zones: Moscow time, plus 2 hours, plus 4 hours, and plus 7 hours (that's Eastern Russia). It's not a huge deal, though – if I miss a show in my time zone, I can catch it in another zone.
The channel list is a bit wonky, too. The numbering's sequential, but some channels are missing, so you'll see gaps in the list. For example, after channel 179 (TNT+7), you'll find channel 208 (Dom Kino).
I've got plenty of channels to choose from, though. They're grouped by theme: health (Doctor, Healthy TV), science, sports, gardening, travel, hunting and fishing, and kids' channels. It's not perfect, but it's close enough.
There are also paid channels, like the cinema package (Kinosemya, Kinopremyera, Kinohit) or channels from Amedia. All in all, I've got plenty of channels to keep me entertained.
One thing that's worth mentioning is the installation process. I was a bit skeptical at first, but the dealer did a great job. They were professional, efficient, and even helped me set up my new box. It was a seamless experience from start to finish.
Overall, I'm really happy with my decision to upgrade to MTS. The new box has been a game-changer for me, and I've got access to a wide range of channels that I never had before. Sure, there are some quirks and limitations, but they're minor compared to the benefits.
Would I recommend MTS to others? Absolutely. If you're in the market for a new satellite TV system, I'd definitely consider MTS. Just be sure to do your research and find a reputable dealer to install the system.
