Remember the plan we had made to visit the Far East for a long time. Finally, in September 2023, we managed to fulfill our dream. Our goal was to discover the main attractions of Vladivostok and enjoy the Sea of Japan during the autumn season. We had been planning this adventure for a long time, and I was excited to finally be able to make it a reality.
I want to tell you about Livadia, a small village where the sandy beaches, fresh seafood, and medusa-free sea offered us an unforgettable experience.

The trip.
We boarded the direct flight from S7 Airlines from Irkutsk to Vladivostok, which runs daily. The flight time is approximately 4 hours. The price of the tickets varies between 10,000 rubles per person, one way. When we bought the tickets for 2 adults and 2 children, one way, they cost us 80,000 rubles. It was a pleasant flight, they offered us a snack on the plane and gave the children some gifts.
The airport.
It is located in the city of Artem, about 46 km from Vladivostok. The airport is beautiful, comfortable, and meets international quality standards. We reserved a rental car in advance and it was brought to the airport's parking lot, where we signed the contract. The cost of renting the Japanese car for 1 day was 2,000 rubles.

The climate.
The Sea of Japan begins to warm up from August and September, but in mid-September it is already a bit cool for swimming. So August is considered a mild summer season. We were lucky with the weather, it was warm and sunny. The daytime temperature ranged from 25 to 30 degrees, while the nighttime temperature was around 20 degrees. A gentle breeze blew, and I wanted to breathe deeply, the sea air was very noticeable.
From the city of Artem, our family headed towards Naokada, more specifically towards the sandy beaches of the village of Livaidia. The road was good. 100 km and we were there. I loved the way the landscape changed as we progressed, from pine and cedar forests to deciduous forests and then to the coast of the sea.

The Turbaza.
The Turbaza is called "Absolute" and is a bit further from the main beach, near the village of Ana, the Ranghala bay. The Turbaza was booked in advance, remotely. The cost per day was 5,000 rubles, with a discount (since it was September), the normal price is 7,000 rubles. I thought it was an excellent option, as it included a room with two double beds, a bathroom and a toilet, an outdoor kitchen and a free barbecue area.

The Turbaza area is closed, there is parking for the car. In the area, there are 2 hot pools: one for children and one for adults. A children's play area with trampolines. What I liked most about the Turbaza was its design, with a modern and cozy style.
What's included in the price?! 1 room with 2 double beds. In the room, there is a bathroom and a toilet. There is also a closet, a dressing room, a refrigerator, and a TV. Upon entering, there is an outdoor kitchen with a table, kitchen utensils, and a gas stove (we bought the gas ourselves). There is also a free barbecue area. The Turbaza is in good condition, everything is clean and beautiful.
I loved the possibility of choosing between an independent apartment and one in a complex. I must say that the price of the independent apartments was a bit lower, about two-thirds less, but I can assure you that the apartment in the complex was an excellent option. I only regret not having thought to write a review and photograph the room in more detail.
The children quickly got rid of their things in the room and ran to play in the pool as soon as they realized it was available. And do you know what? The pool is great - clean, warm, and large.

One of the advantages of this complex is that it is located in a small, quiet bay, where there are very few people - the beach is gravel, but it is only 3-5 minutes on foot from the complex.

I sat in front of the sea and was surrounded by silence - nature was a true refuge. The water was warm, medusa-free, salty… As I got out of the sea, I felt the salt crystals on my skin.

The food.

The only thing that disappointed me about the Turbaza was the lack of nearby restaurants and shops. We had to go looking for products to the village of Livadía or to the village of Anna. I thought it was a bit frustrating, but I understood that we were in a tourist area and that the prices of food and products can be a bit high.

When traveling, we always want to relax as much as possible, but as a woman, I was worried about how to feed my family. The restaurants that were nearby had very high prices and the food was nothing special. For example, the dorado cost 1,000 rubles, it was dry and not very tasty, the ucha de rey cost 700 rubles. A vaso of mors cost 500 rubles and a Caesar salad cost 700 rubles.

We prepared our own food in the evenings and in the mornings. We bought seafood, fresh seafood, meat, fruits.
The prices.
When I first went to the supermarket, I was surprised - the prices are exactly double what they are in our region. I told myself that this is a tourist area, that's why they're so expensive. But when we arrived in Vladivostok, I understood that life is expensive here in general.

I loved the variety of seafood - mussels cost 2,000 rubles per kilogram, crabs 3,000, and poor chicken only 400 rubles per kilogram.

The prices in the pharmacy were also 50% higher.
The beach.

The center of the Livanthi beach is a paradise: the sand is yellow, the water is crystal clear, and the sea is free of medusas. The sea is calm, there are few algae, and there is a great variety of fish. My son caught a crab and a sea urchin, the water is transparent, and you can see the bottom perfectly, there are a lot of shells.

There are many tourists and people enjoying the sun. You can rent a sunshade, a Supboard, or buy a shawarma and an elote.

The heat is intense, there is hardly any shade, and 27 degrees can drive you crazy. The sun that reflects the desert dust is scorching.

The medicine.
The daughter started coughing violently, day and night. We found a good medical center in Livaní - the doctors listened to us and told us that there was nothing serious, just a small cold. They were very kind and prescribed us a treatment. In this place, if your children need medical attention, don't worry, they will attend to you immediately.
We were also prescribed medications for cases of gastrointestinal infection, but fortunately, we didn't need them.
Excursions and shopping.
There are many souvenir shops where you can find shells, necklaces, and other souvenirs with the name of Livaní engraved. The prices are reasonable.
You can buy excursions both at fixed stalls and at those of private vendors. Of course, private vendors are more economical, but they are not responsible for you.
We took a boat for a family excursion to the island of the five fingers. The boat ride on a small Japanese boat took about 25-30 minutes in the open sea.

I remember the time when we met a man alone in the sea, adrift, while fishing on the coast with SABOR. We stopped at a place with little depth. It was fascinating to see how the sea algae grew and how the sea urchins sat on the rocks... What a delicacy that is served in restaurants!

I confess that the boat was small and scared me a bit, although we were all wearing life jackets.

When we arrived at the sand islands, I was left breathless by the beauty of nature!!!Around the rocks, I saw sea otters and nutrias swimming. A pair of sea lions passed very close to the boat. And I also saw a nutria. In my region, nutrias are black, but here they had a brown color with spots. We walked through the area where their refuge is, with the rocks where they warm up. It was an unforgettable experience. In short, emotions for a lifetime.

We returned quickly. The cost of the excursion was around 7,000 rubles for four people. If we had gone to the pavilion, we would have paid at least 10 times more.

What I liked most about this vacation was the complete relaxation. My family and I spent a week in this beautiful tourist area, and we had fun like never before. The children spent hours in the pool, while I refreshed myself with a cold water bath.

I remember that we went to the Anna bay, a really impressive place. We saw the sunset and were left with our mouths open.

What I always like about vacations is the freedom to do what you want. In this case, we could spend a week in this incredible place, swimming, catching crabs, listening to the waves, and simply enjoying the moment...

The truth is that Lapidia charmed us, the nature, the sea, the tourist area... everything was great, the only thing that was missing was the organization of the food service.
Two years have passed since our last visit, and we're already going crazy to return to the Sea of Japan. We'll surely come back soon!
