Discover the peace on the banks of the Kama River, surrounded by the tranquility of a pine forest.
Recall when a moment in my life left me exhausted, and I just wanted to get away from everything for a week or two, immerse myself in a paradise of tranquility where I could eat, sleep, walk, and relax in the sun, watching the reflection of the waves.
But in my case, traveling to the coast to relax is still a challenge, so I've found an alternative solution: every summer I go to Demidkovo, a sanatorium in the middle of a pine forest, next to the banks of the Kama River.
The sanatorium:
Demidkovo: the place where happiness is within our reach.
From generation to generation, the natural beauty of this place is carefully preserved. The majestic pine forest connects us with nature. The rustling of the trees, the fresh and crystal-clear air, and the Kama River fill us with energy and give us strength.
Despite the fact that today we cannot afford a long trip to the coast, we have the opportunity to enjoy a healthy and relaxing retreat, even if it's just for a few weeks a year. This is still a luxury, but now it's more accessible and varied.
The advantage of our time is the technology of wellness centers, which allows us to perform effective controls and treatments in a short period of time, as well as many creations for physical and emotional well-being.
In Demidkovo, we have created an ideal environment for recovery and rest.
I loved the idea of visiting the sanatorium as if it were a day trip. You can go without paying for the night, just to spend the day in the area. The entrance costs around 400-500 rubles.
This year we decided to try the option of a night, and it turned out to be possible. I was surprised to learn that reservations with accommodation can be made for a single day, although I thought that only reservations for three days or more were possible. The reservation is called 'Ozdorovlenie' and does not require a sanatorium card.
The 'Ozdorovlenie' reservation includes: accommodation, three meals a day, entertainment, access to a bathroom with a sauna complex once every three days (if you stay for at least three days), a prior consultation (one hour), herbal tea (one cup per person) once every three days (if you stay for at least three days), a consultation with a doctor (20 minutes), regardless of how many days you stay. What I liked most about this reservation is that it does not require a sanatorium card. Medical and spa therapies can be purchased on site.
Location and how to get there:
The sanatorium is located on Kurortnaya Street, number 1/9, in the village of Demidkovo, in the Polaznenskoye municipality, in the Dobryanski district, in the Perm Oblast.
It's not easy to get to the sanatorium compared to other places like Ust-Kachka, which has a bus that leaves every 20-30 minutes from the Perm bus station.
The most comfortable option is to go by car or taxi. The journey from the center of Perm takes 1-2 hours depending on traffic jams. The second option is an official bus that goes to the sanatorium according to the schedule, but only for employees and people who have purchased tickets. The third option, which is not the most comfortable, is to take a bus from the Perm bus station to Polazna, and then from the Polazna bus station, you need to call a taxi to Demidkovo, or walk 3-4 kilometers. Once, out of curiosity, we tried this type of option with friends, but it turned out to be very long and tiring, especially in hot weather, and this type of option is only for nature lovers and adventurers, because part of the way you have to walk on the edge of the road.
The second complication of the accessibility of the sanatorium is the constant traffic jams in the area of the Chusovskiy bridge, which cannot be fixed.
The happiness of arriving at the wonderful place with the impressive pine air scent surpasses all the complications.
Generally, at the entrance, there are employees, and you can buy the entrance ticket for a walk. The area for walking is open until 21:00.
If you arrive with accommodation and your own car, you need to pay for parking. The price is reasonable - 50 rubles per day.
After leaving the car, the first thing you need to do is go to the administrative building to register. It's just next to the entrance to the area. Registration takes a bit of time, it can take around 10 minutes. You are given a contract and tickets that you need to present to the administrator in the accommodation building.
I think it's very practical that the sanatorium has four entry and exit times, each with a specific schedule: from 8:00 to 6:00, from 12:00 to 10:00, from 17:00 to 15:00, and from 21:00 to 19:00.
The sanatorium has three buildings of rooms and approximately 25 eco-houses.
We chose a room in the second building with a view of the Kama River. The rooms in these buildings are newer, although they are also more expensive. For example, the price of a standard room for two people in the third building would be 11,900 rubles per day, while in the second building it would be 13,400 rubles.
Reserving a room is not as simple as it seems. On the website, it always says that there are no rooms available for the selected date, so you need to contact the sales department by phone. However, when you call, they don't answer. They only responded through Telegram, and there we agreed on the reservation.
Upon arrival, they gave us electronic keys to the room and a guest card, which we need to present at the restaurant, where the meals are organized.
The number we reserved was a standard category for two people. We were on the third floor, and we had a view of the Kama River, which was exactly what we wanted. I would have liked to have a balcony, but fortunately, there were only three rooms with a balcony on the entire floor.
The room itself pleased me a lot - it was quite spacious, sunny, and decorated in warm and light tones.
In the room, there was a large wardrobe.
In it, we found slippers. The coat racks were a bit few, but since we arrived only for one night, it wasn't a problem.
The bed in this room was a convertible type. We could join or separate the two beds, each 90 cm wide.
In each half of the bed, there was its own mattress, although there was a small space between them, it wasn't a problem. At first, the beds were joined, but we decided not to separate them because it was very comfortable.
The mattress was very soft, but sleeping was normal. However, the pillow was common, so I found it a bit uncomfortable in the neck area.
Besides the bed, the room has a rest area with a coffee table and two chairs.
The chairs are very comfortable. The coffee table with a glass surface pleased me a bit, as the space between it and the bed is narrow and you need to be careful not to hit the bed, but in the end, I hit myself several times with my leg.
In the coffee table, there was a glass for water, glasses, and tea cups. On the floor, there is a water dispenser and a hair dryer. We were lucky, it was practically right next to our room, we didn't have to walk much!
The ironing board was just next to it, we didn't use it, but I saw that some people did use it.
A work desk with a chair has been provided in the room.
The desk has a small refrigerator, but we didn't need it and didn't even connect or close the doors.
The TV is present, but we didn't even use it during our stay.
In a corner of the room, hidden behind the curtains, I discovered a small heater, so if you go in September or winter with cold weather, don't worry about freezing.
The curtains are not blackout, they are normal but create a certain shadow effect.
The windows have mosquito nets, which is very convenient. The area is treated for pests, but there are some mosquitoes that can bite you, so I recommend bringing insect repellent for your nighttime walks.
The weather was temperate, so we didn't need to use the air conditioning system, so I couldn't say anything about its functioning, but it's present. We didn't open the windows to avoid the noise of the wind and the waves in the river, which were very strong that day and you could hear the water and the boats passing by.
I didn't hear any noise from the neighbors, but I did wake up a bit early, around 7-8 am, due to the noise of the footsteps in the hallway and the knocks on the door of the room next door.
The bathroom is very spacious, and you could even dance there.
The toilet installation is not very old and is very clean. We had a shower with a simple drain grid.
I love the shower function. The water temperature is perfect, the jet is normal, and the drain works without problems. Also, the water drains quickly. There is also an electric hair dryer that heats up very quickly, so my favorite clothes dry in a matter of minutes.
The Valera hair dryer does an excellent job, without heating up my head. Also, it has a small magnifying glass that is very useful for doing my makeup.
Besides a normal mirror, there is a small magnifying mirror. The lighting in the bathroom is excellent, so I can do my makeup without any problems.
In terms of bathroom products, there is a liquid soap dispenser and packages of 2-in-1 shampoo and gel.
The towels are very good, white, clean, and soft.
The food is included in the price and is served in a buffet called 'Trapezaria' on the second floor of the cultural center.
During our stay, the food was served in two shifts. To know when it's your turn, you are given a card with the meal schedule and the name of the restaurant.
Our turn was the first:
Breakfast: 9:00 - 9:45
Lunch: 13:00 - 13:45
Dinner: 18:00 - 18:45
The dining room is a large space with enough tables. Despite having a lot of people, I always found a table available.
The breakfast line is small, but offers a variety of options. There is a large selection of vegetables, appetizers, and drinks. In the breakfast, there were 2-3 types of cereal, omelette, pancakes, cheese cake, and delicious sausages.
The place was full of people, and there was a line to get the hot dishes, so I didn't have time to think about what I wanted to eat. I don't like crowds, so I hurried to take something and leave.
Instead, the quality of the food surprised me. It was delicious, fresh, and low in fat.
There is a good selection of fruits - there were apples, oranges, plums, peaches, melons. The melon was very quick to spoil, the employees barely managed to bring new portions.
On the next day, we discovered that there was no need to stay in the dining room, we could go out to the terrace. Eating on the terrace under the pines turned out to be much more pleasant, as the dining room was very noisy and crowded. However, on the terrace, it can be windy, so it's better to dress in warmer clothes, especially if the weather is not warm.
The Demidkovo area is much smaller than Ust-Kachka and is very well-maintained. It's a pine forest that makes the air here especially fresh and fragrant with pine scent. There are some alder trees here, so in some places you can feel the sweet and melodic aroma.
There are paths everywhere, planted with flowers of different types. In some areas, the buildings and trees are decorated with garlands.
While walking along the paths, I can find different sculptures inspired by Bajov's stories.
Among the pines, there are ecosystems of different sizes. Some look like simple cabins, while others look like magical palaces.
I loved the small water fountain that we found near the teremok. It's very beautiful.
While walking through the area, you can reach the river and the pier, from where you can enjoy impressive views.
It's a perfect place to walk and enjoy the riverbank.
The beach is undoubtedly my favorite place in Demidkovo. I love coming here on hot days. The sand is white and fine, and the water is crystal clear. The cabanas are free, but it's essential to find one available. Although it's often available.
On the beach, there are cabins for changing and showers. There are also swings and slides for children near the beach.
There is also a free public bathroom near the beach. The bathrooms are also available in the first floors of buildings 1 and 2 and the recreational center. Although they are not in the best condition, most people use them.
This year, we didn't have luck with the weather, so the beach was empty on Sunday. Even when it's sunny, the wind on the riverbank is very strong, so there weren't many people.
The complex has a beach area with bungalows and hammocks, and next to it, a yacht club.
On the previous Friday, the temperature was slightly more pleasant, and there were few bathers, only the bravest.
In previous years, on the beach, there was a cafe called 'Kama-Reka' that was very popular on weekends, especially when the weather was good.
I can't help but smile every time I think about the experience I had at Demidkovo.
