I'd already tried out a lot of popular, milled coffee brands, so I was looking for something new to catch my eye. Camera Obscura is a pro-level brand in terms of design, with bright and unconventional packaging that matches its name. I tried out their 'Mixtura' blend for the review.
The flavor profile of this blend is quite unique, with notes of cherry, peach, and birthday cookies. It's a mix of Kenyan Karimikui and Colombian Santa Elena in equal proportions, as stated on the packaging. You can see the acidity, bitterness, and sweetness scales.
Kenyan Karimikui is a complex coffee by nature, with its origin evident from the name. They specialize in fruity and berry notes, as well as citrus flavors. The coffee is fermented for a long time, washed, dried under African sunlight, and so on. As for Colombian Santa Elena, its origin is clear, but this blend is milder, with hints of nuts, chocolate, and other flavors. It's an anaerobic coffee, processed without oxygen to give it a more intense flavor.

The cherry flavor's still there, but it's not overpowering. And the best part? No bitter aftertaste whatsoever.
I was blown away by how well-balanced this coffee is. At 597 rubles for 250 grams, it's definitely a splurge, but the quality's worth it. I'd highly recommend giving it a try, especially if you're a coffee connoisseur looking for a new adventure.
