The conditions at the Orchid Lake House were appalling, with dirty utensils, insects in our food, and a general sense of neglect. The bungalows were infested with cockroaches and had no proper bedding. We were horrified and demanded a change of accommodations, but our tour guide and her colleague, M, refused to help us.
