Hello everyone!
I'm still sharing my thoughts on the accessories I've bought since getting my laptop. A little while back, I already shared my opinion on the laptop stand that I thought was a great value for money, but after using it for a few months, I realized it had some major drawbacks. Today, I'm going to talk about the Xiaomi Wireless Mouse Lite 2.
Key Details
Brand: Xiaomi - This is the brand behind this mouse.
Connection Type: Wireless - It connects to my laptop without any cables.
Power Source: 1 AA battery - It's powered by a single AA battery, which is super convenient.
Where to Buy: Marketplaces (Yandex Market, Ozon, Wiiliberriz) - I bought it on Yandex Market, but now it's even cheaper.
I paid 706 rubles for the mouse, which is a steal if you ask me.
Description
The Xiaomi Mi Wireless Mouse 2 is designed for use with computers or laptops. It's super easy to take on the go, whether you're commuting or traveling for work. The mouse connects via a radio module through the USB port, so you don't have to deal with cables. This wireless mouse for computers runs on a standard AA battery. The adapter for wireless connectivity to your computer or laptop is stored in a special compartment inside the casing, making it easy to transport. The design is universal and works for both left- and right-handed users. The special exterior coating makes it resistant to external dirt and grime, and it's easy to wipe clean.
Design
The mouse looks sleek and minimalist. It's matte and feels nice to the touch. In person, it's not black, but more of a dark gray. The mouse has an oval shape.
I'm loving the simple design of this mouse – it's got just two buttons and a scroll wheel. The buttons aren't highlighted, they're just separated down the middle. The scroll wheel really stands out against the mouse body.
The mouse has a nice curved shape on top. For me, this curve fits perfectly under my index and middle fingers.
On the underside of the mouse, you'll find some Chinese text, a switch, and a battery door –
which leads to a tiny compartment for the battery and receiver. The receiver itself is tiny –
and
The USB plug is flush with my laptop's port, which is a nice touch.
This mouse is ridiculously light –
Mouse in action
The one thing I can really nitpick about this mouse is its size. It's tiny. But I'm kind of at fault here – I saw the photos and knew it would be small, and I read the description, so I should've known what to expect. For me, the priorities were budget-friendliness and quality, not the size.
That doesn't mean the mouse is uncomfortable, though. I just wish my hand could rest more on it, you know? My fingers and part of my palm are on the mouse instead.
On the flip side, the mouse's small size and weight make it super easy to take with me and toss into my laptop bag. It even fits in a small pocket and doesn't weigh the bag down.
I love that the mouse only needs a single AA battery to work.
After more than six months of use, I've only had to replace the battery once. I forgot to turn off the mouse after working on my laptop one day and left it on for a day, which drained the battery – but the cursor didn't even skip a beat beforehand. All things considered, given that I use my laptop almost every day for several hours at a time, the battery life is actually pretty great. Still, it's worth remembering to turn off the mouse when you're not using it to extend the battery life.
Other than that, I haven't had any issues with the mouse. It's worked flawlessly from the start, with no complaints from the buttons or scroll wheel.
I've gotta admit, I've had some issues with wireless mice in the past - I wasn't a fan because they'd break easily and I'd lose connection with my computer, even though the batteries were still good. This wasn't just with one or two mice, it was a recurring problem.
But this little mouse has been a game-changer. I've never lost connection with my computer, and that was definitely a concern for me. At first, I thought about buying a wired mouse because of my past experiences, but I decided to take a chance and I'm glad I did.
I have to clean out the space between the top and bottom of the mouse regularly because it gets clogged with dust. And it also gets clogged under the buttons on the side.
Usually, I just use a piece of paper to clean it out. I run it through the gap between the top and bottom of the mouse and a bit under the buttons. One thing that's not so well thought out is the big gap between the top and bottom of the mouse, as well as between the buttons. I can only imagine how much dust must be accumulating inside the mouse...
The mouse isn't the quietest, but the buttons do click pretty loudly. It's not a deal-breaker, though. The mouse is also pretty prone to showing dirt and stains. You can see any dust or grime on its surface, and it's not like I haven't cleaned it a few times. The matte finish doesn't help, either.
Overall, I'd say the pros of this mouse far outweigh the cons:
Feels great to hold; Minimalist design; Matte finish on the body; Very affordable; It's been working flawlessly for 7 months now; The battery life is decent, not 12 months like some sellers claim on Yandex Market, but still pretty good.I'll highlight a few drawbacks though:
It's got some wear and tear; The gaps in the body can collect dust; It's a bit on the smaller side, but that's a pretty subjective complaint. The verdict
I'd still wholeheartedly recommend the Xiaomi Wireless Mouse Lite 2, despite its flaws. It's a perfect budget option that won't let you down.
