Editor's Summary
I'm thoroughly unimpressed with this broccoli puree. It's a total letdown, especially considering the other options available. The flavor and aroma are a major disappointment - it's bitter, sour, and has a weird burnt weed-like smell. My kid didn't love it, and I can see why. It's not worth the money, especially when you compare it to other brands. I'd advise against wasting your cash on this one.

We've been introducing a lot of age-appropriate products into our kid's diet, including green veggies:
Cauliflower puree "Agusha"Cauliflower puree "FruTonianka"Cauliflower puree "Sady Pridonya"Broccoli puree "Agusha"Broccoli puree "FruTonianka"Broccoli puree "Agusha"Broccoli puree "FruTonianka"We also tried the broccoli from this brand, and I didn't have any complaints. But this broccoli puree is something else! It's something disgusting, stinky, and has a weird texture.
Even now, thinking about it makes me shudder. It's definitely not kid's food.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Name: Broccoli puree for kid's nutrition "Sady Pridonya"
Manufacturer: OOO "Sady Pridonya" (Volgograd Oblast, Russia)
Official website: [link]
Volume/weight: 80 g/125 g
Broccoli puree from Sady PridonyaPACKAGING, DESIGN
Glass jars with screw-top lids or tetra-paks.
It's better to buy it in tetra-paks, as the price per 80 g in glass is higher than the price for the same product in a 125 g tetra-pak.
The glass jars don't have a seal to protect against the first opening, but I haven't come across any open jars from this brand. Not like with "FruTonianka" or "Babushkin Loukoshko".
The design is kid-friendly, but it's nothing special.
INGREDIENTS
Broccoli puree
I highly doubt that this puree contains only broccoli and not oatmeal, like in their soups. The smell is disgusting, sour, and it's not even like broccoli.
AROMA, COLOR, CONSISTENCY, TASTE
Other broccoli products from different brands smell like broccoli, with a very specific aroma. But this is just a sour, stinky mess that makes me nauseous.
I have to say, the green color of this puree looks a bit murky, and those small lumps are a mystery to me. But, I'm willing to take the manufacturer's word for it - they claim it's made from broccoli.
The texture of this puree is seriously unpleasant - it's like it's been thickened with something, maybe cornstarch or oatmeal... I'm stumped. And the taste? Let's just say it's a weird combination of bitter and sour, although the puree itself isn't spoiled.I've bought this puree a few times from different batches, and each time it's been either too bitter or too sour, but none of them even remotely resembled broccoli. It's almost gotten to the point where I feel a bit embarrassed, because the fruit purees from this brand are actually really good - we've tried all their varieties.
MY VERDICT
As someone who eats this puree for health reasons (broccoli is supposed to be good for breast health), I was really looking forward to trying it. But after just one spoonful, I almost spat it out.
Interestingly, my kid seemed to enjoy it, downing a whole 125g serving without hesitation. So, I'll give it two thumbs up for that, instead of cola!
Sady Pridonya puree broccoliVia this photo, you can see just how unappetizing it looks. This is hands-down the worst broccoli puree we've ever had, and my kid is no picky eater. What I did appreciate was that, despite its unpleasant taste and texture, it didn't cause any allergic reactions or stomach upset. But, I won't be buying it again, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.
THE VERDICT
This is one disgusting, stinky puree that bears no resemblance to the lovely, rich broccoli puree I've come to expect. It's actually the worst puree we've tried, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
