Editor's Summary
I've gotta say, I was blown away by the Water Circus 'Underwater Kingdom' show in Yekaterinburg-Expo. As a kid, I never really got into circuses, but this one was a total game changer. The combination of water-based acrobatics, glow-in-the-dark costumes, and a mesmerizing underwater setting had me and my son completely enthralled. It's definitely worth every penny for a fun and memorable holiday experience.

I've never been a fan of circuses since I was a kid. While others were laughing at the clowns' jokes and mesmerized by the animals performing tricks, I'd sit there, waiting for the show to end. It just never clicked with me.
But one show has stuck with me all these years. I'm not even sure what it was about, but I remember people in black costumes with glow-in-the-dark elements that lit up under the stage lights. And the whole thing took place on water. It was seriously cool.
Last year, my older son missed all his corporate holiday parties due to illness, so I had to come up with some entertainment for him myself. Browsing through a local travel group's announcements, I stumbled upon an intriguing offer - a show at a water circus. Water circus! Just hearing those words got my heart racing.
Fast-forwarding to my childhood, I immediately messaged the show's organizer and booked two tickets. And that's how we ended up at the show I'm reviewing today.
Event name: Water Circus 'Underwater Kingdom'
Circus brand: Shevchenko Show
Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes, with an intermission
Age restriction: 0+
I'd argue that this isn't exactly a circus show for young kids. It's more geared towards older kids, and the two-and-a-half-hour duration kind of suggests that.
Event dates: December 20, 2025, to January 11, 2026
Location: Yekaterinburg-Expo and MTS Live Hall, Yekaterinburg
Ticket prices: from 1,000 to 4,000 rubles

We attended the show on December 28, choosing seats in the right sector, row 7 (middle). I'm pointing this out because the photos I took were from our exact seats, so you can get an idea of the view.
Let's start with the venue. It's pretty compact and nicely themed - all ocean-inspired.
Underwater Circus 'The Underwater Kingdom'

So, the show is surrounded by three sectors: central, right, and left. The ticket prices vary in each of them (it also depends on the seat selection). The central sector is, of course, the most expensive - you have to understand that.
 Underwater Circus 'The Underwater Kingdom'

The ticket price for us was 3000 rubles. We paid 6000 for two. As for whether it's expensive or not, I won't say - it depends on each person's financial situation. Personally, I think it's worth spending money on a good show once a year. The main thing is for it to actually be that good)

Now, about the show
Its storyline is dedicated to the New Year's holiday. The main characters, of course, are Grandfather Frost and the Snow Maiden, who, by coincidence, found themselves in the clutches of the Sea Goddess. That's when their adventures began...) I won't retell the story, I think those who are planning to attend the show will be interested in finding out about it themselves.

Underwater Circus 'The Underwater Kingdom'

In the depths of the ocean, there lives the cunning Sea Goddess, who decided to kidnap New Year's Eve. Her loyal helpers are the mermaid Masha and a trio of restless pirates, ready to do whatever it takes to prevent the holiday from happening.
\But to defend the holiday, Grandfather Frost and the Snow Maiden stand up.
\They're in for incredible adventures, challenges, and meetings with other heroes of the fairy tale.

Aquatic Circus "Underwater Kingdom" Aquatic Circus "Underwater Kingdom" Artists I loved that a huge number of aerial gymnasts participated in the acts. Their moves were polished to perfection and left me mesmerized by their beauty and elegance. It was super entertaining!
The clown troupe also impressed me. I'm used to seeing silly jokes from them, but this time it was different. I enjoyed the modern humor, even if some of the jokes were a bit cheesy.
The illusionist's performance left me speechless. It's pure magic when a person disappears from a box with a flick of their wrist and then reappears in it again. I have no idea how they do it!
The men on the pylon performance got my blood pumping. Those tight-fitting costumes showcasing their flexibility and agility are a sight to behold.
The project leader, Andrei Shevchenko, didn't go unnoticed either. He even performed with a sea lion.
