Editor's Summary
I was skeptical at first, but the Wallet app has become a total game changer for me. It's super easy to use and has saved me a ton of time and money. The only downsides are some annoying ads and occasional limitations on bonus rewards.
Specifications
I was introduced to the Wallet app by a colleague at work a few years ago. At first, I didn't see the point of registering somewhere to turn discount cards from stores into digital ones and collect them in one place. But after digging deeper into the app's features, after a few years of active use, I can say that Wallet is a pretty convenient and even useful app.
Wallet app
Wallet appIt's super intuitive β registering, adding discount cards, and all that jazz is a breeze. You only need to register once, linking the app to your phone number and email.
The process of getting discount cards might seem a bit outdated (you need to take a photo of the plastic card from both sides), but it's actually a lifesaver.
Wallet app Wallet appThey also offer the option to get store cards directly in the app. Some stores offer 'welcome bonuses.' In that case, after getting the card, you'll need to register on the store's website to activate your card. It's super convenient when you know you'll be buying something from that store and a small discount won't hurt π
Wallet app Wallet app Wallet appYou can also add your friends' discount cards to your Wallet (if they have cards with good discounts), and use them freely. I do that with my parents' Perekrestok card β I buy stuff, and they redeem the accumulated points π
There are tons of discount card categories β from pharmacies to electronics, the choice is huge.
Wallet appThey also offer the option to get bank cards, but I think it's better to handle that in a bank's office or on their website.
Wallet appI've come across some decent coupons with discounts, and occasionally some interesting ones pop up.
Wallet appThere's also a 'benefits' section where you can see where and what discounts are available.
Wallet appYou can accumulate cashback, but to be honest, it's not really worth making a big deal about in Wallet. You won't be raking it in, that's for sure π
Wallet appSo, the good stuff:
it's free
you don't have to carry a bunch of plastic around with you;
you can link your own discount cards from stores to Wallet, as well as those of your friends;
you don't need an internet connection β Wallet works offline. That's the most convenient part. A lot of stores have their own apps, and they all have discount cards. But sometimes the internet's not great, or the app's down for maintenance, and you can't access your discount card. Wallet is always a safe bet, though π
tech support is on point. They respond quickly and resolve issues fast;
The not-so-good stuff:
there's been a lot of ads lately, but hey, everything's free, so I guess that's a necessary evil π
you can't group your cards by category (e.g. 'groceries', 'pharmacy', etc.) or even alphabetically. It can take a while to find what you need;
some cards only let you earn points, but not cash them out. That's more of a problem with the store's system, though;
Wallet is always evolving, with new participants and features being added all the time.
Give Wallet a shot β there are plenty of useful and interesting offers to be found, and something's bound to catch your eye.
