My Wild Concert Experience at VK Stadium: 3 Bands, One Artist, and a Topless Twist

summarizeEditor's Summary

I'm not exactly the type to attend concerts in crowded dance zones, but I was determined to face my fears and give it a shot. The NЮ concert at VK STADIUM was an unforgettable experience. I was blown away by the energy of the crowd and the quality of the music. The venue itself was a pleasant surprise - a large club that can hold up to 7000 people. Despite some initial reservations, I found myself getting lost in the music and the moment. The atmosphere was electric, with a crowd that was clearly passionate about the music. The music was top-notch, with a great selection of songs to keep everyone entertained. The effects and lighting were impressive, adding to the overall energy of the performance. The venue was well-suited to the size of the crowd, with plenty of space to move around. The sound quality was excellent, with clear and crisp audio throughout the performance. The crowd was friendly and welcoming, making it easy to get caught up in the excitement. It's definitely an experience I'll be talking about for a long time.

Hello everyone!
I'm not exactly the type to attend concerts in crowded dance zones, but I was determined to face my fears and give it a shot.
I have to say, it was a really liberating experience. There's something about being in a sea of people, surrounded by music and good vibes, that just makes you forget about everything else.
The NЮ concert at VK STADIUM was an unforgettable experience.
VK STADIUM: I have to admit, I was expecting a massive stadium, but what I found was a pretty large club that can hold up to 7000 people.
For comparison, the Live Arena can hold up to 11000 people, but it looks way bigger. From the outside, you'd never guess that VK STADIUM is actually a club. The building looks more like a community center, with its columns and all.
Inside, everything looks super modern. First, they check your tickets. Then, you go through the metal detectors. They check your bags and pat you down. What caught my attention was that here, men are the ones checking women. When we were at the Victoria Awards, it was strictly women checking women, and men checking men. There's a huge coat check area. Then, you head into a room with long bar counters. After that, you enter the main room where the concert will take place. At first, I thought the main room was kind of small, but it's actually inflatable. Dance Floor: We had tickets to the dance floor, and right in front of us was the fan zone - basically the same thing as the dance floor, just closer to the stage. There are also VIP areas, which are up on the balconies. They had a poster for NЮ up there.
We arrived at the concert a few hours early: The concert started at 8 PM, but we got there at 6 PM. We snagged a spot right up front, just behind the barrier. I was glad we got there early, because by the time the doors opened, it was packed and we wouldn't have been able to get any closer. Of course, standing for hours was a real challenge. The girl next to me managed to watch an entire episode of her favorite show on her phone while we were waiting. We were standing right behind the barrier that separated the fan zone from the dance floor. I lucked out, because this barrier had a little raised platform, and I was standing on it, which gave me a perfect view of the stage! I was worried that I'd be stuck behind a bunch of taller people and wouldn't be able to see a thing, given my height of 5'1".The stage was totally visible, and they even had a big screen on the side of the stage to catch any angles we might have missed.
We didn't have to wait in line to get in, but later they said that there was a huge line at the entrance closer to concert time. The concert actually started a bit later, at 20:20, because not everyone had made it in.Getting to the venue: We're from the Moscow region, but we decided not to drive all the way to VK STADIUM, and it was a good call, because parking there is pretty tricky. We dropped our car off at the nearest station and took the metro. It's not too far from the metro station - about a 20-minute walk at a leisurely pace.
The concert: To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of any particular artists to the point of losing my mind. I might like their songs, but I might not even know what the artist looks like. But lately, I've been listening to a lot of NЮ, and I knew what he looked like from the album covers on Yandex Music.
My husband decided to buy the concert tickets. We'd been talking about going to a concert for a long time, but we always ended up sitting in a venue like we did at the Victory Awards, and we really wanted to dance, jump up and down, and scream along to the songs. The artist, Yuri Nikolaenko, is incredibly charismatic. It's one of those cases where you like both the songs and the artist himself.
I've shot a ton of video, but due to YouTube's restrictions, I'm only sharing photos and screenshots from my own videos. They don't quite capture the concert atmosphere, but they're worth a look. Why 3 groups?
I only recently found out that NЮ, VESNA305, and Николай Монро are all the same person – different names, different repertoires.
NЮ are love songs, break-up songs – my husband calls them "sad songs".
VESNA305 are the upbeat, energetic tracks.
Николай Монро are the Russian-style shanson songs.
Each persona felt like a different group – Yuri Niklaenko would change outfits, and it felt like I was watching a different band:
on the NЮ tracks, he had a black-clad, more serious look;
I've seen Yuri rocking the stage in some pretty bold outfits - like that bright red robe on his torso, or the reindeer coat, also on his torso. On the songs by VESNA305, he was wearing that bright red robe on his torso or the reindeer coat, also on his torso. Yuri was also a lot of fun on stage, cursing and joking around. I'm not a huge fan of profanity, but in this case, it added to the energy and emotions of the performance. He was a total showman - it was entertaining just to watch him perform. At first, he was wearing a t-shirt, but then he came out with his torso bare. Given the mostly female audience, I'd say that was a plus. Yuri was in great physical shape, dancing and moving around a lot. You could tell he's into sports. But, let's be real, after those New Year's snacks, his stomach was a bit more noticeable...)
I have to say, the crowd at the concert was mostly women, but there were definitely some guys there too - just not as many.
On social media, Yuri's been posting some pretty harsh comments after the show, and some people are saying things like, 'Dude, he was naked from the waist up, what a total show-off!' or 'He was just swearing and nobody could even hear him.' But honestly, I think it's the artist's job to get the whole crowd pumped up and singing along - that's what I went for, and Yuri definitely delivered. I was totally stoked to see him live and get that energy from the crowd.
I noticed the concert-goers were mostly young women between 18 and 40, but there were also some women in their 50s and 60s. I think they might be the ones writing negative comments about the show and the performer's bare torso, and getting Yuri Nikolaenko mixed up with Igor Nikolaev. To be honest, I wouldn't have paid much attention to it if there wasn't a woman standing nearby with a five-ruble packet and a completely unimpressed look on her face - maybe she was just given the ticket and had to come along.Sound: At first, I got goosebumps. The music was loud, but it didn't give me a headache. And the bass was there. But when I sang along during the concert, I couldn't hear myself or anyone else. However, when I re-watched the video, I could hear myself and the other concert-goers.
Video: During the concert, a drone was flying around, and the footage was being projected onto the screens on stage in real-time. There was also another screen to the side of the stage.
Effects: The stage was set on fire, with smoke billowing out during the concert. Man, it looked so cool. And when the flames shot up, you could really feel the heat. Some songs were accompanied by falling sparkly things. It was super atmospheric and beautiful, especially during the song "If We Burn". Band Members: Yuri was joined on stage by guitarists, a drummer, and a keyboardist. They had this massive multi-level setup on stage. A few times, Yuri even played the keyboards himself. Pyrotechnics: In the fan zone, Yuri would often walk up to the barrier, and everyone would go wild.
Let me tell you, the craziest thing happened at the concert. People were throwing him gifts on stage. Someone even offered him underwear, which was pretty hilarious. When he went to collect the gifts, someone threw him a scarf, and it looked like it was meant for his neck, not his nose!
But that wasn't the only weird thing that happened. Someone threw a bra on the stage, and it just lay there. I've seen him get a lot of flying bras on social media, though. It's like some fans just can't contain themselves in the fan zone.
I mean, what's the point of throwing all these things away after the concert? Maybe he's just collecting them or something.
But, on the bright side, this bra even made it onto the news on the music TV channel. I'm laughing just thinking about it – you write songs, perform on stage, and then they show your bra on TV.
I even checked social media after the concert, and some fans were posting about it. There are even fans who travel to every city for his concerts.
And from the stage, Yuri was telling us that there was even a fight between some girls in St. Petersburg. He joked that it was a cultural thing, but I'm not so sure about that.
Differences between the two concerts: The VK STADIUM concert was a two-day event, and we were there for the first day.
I checked out the differences on social media. The main difference was that on the first day, it was just him as the solo artist. All the songs he sang with other artists were sung by him alone, and when he was supposed to sing with another artist, a recording was played instead. On the second day, there were already other artists: Nebezao - I don't know this artist, but he has a song called "Вернуться". Асия - they have a really beautiful song together called "Останься". And soon, another song "Помнишь" is coming out. Yuri was also dressed as Grandfather Frost, and on the second day, he performed with the Snow Maiden. As I understood from social media, she was his sister.
xa0
The only downside: In any case, this downside didn't ruin the overall impression of the concert. This was the exit from the concert. When the whole crowd just went to the cloakroom, you could even just stand there and be swept away by the crowd. It was on the verge of being a crush because some women were pushing each other, when you could just go calmly.
xa0
Songs: Before the concert, I really liked NЮ's songs:
"Некуда бежать""Я тебя обидел""Мы танцуем с тобой" (unfortunately, this song wasn't sung at the concert, but I watched a show on muzloft with Yuri and he said he doesn't like this song). Before the new year, I really got into VESNA305's songs:
"Новая новогодняя""Новый год"
I have to say, some songs that didn't really impress me before started to sound amazing live. I've been listening to them in my car a lot lately - "I My Fly", "In the Heart", "AU", "In the Room". "I My Fly""In the Heart""AU""In the Room"
They also played some songs that stuck with me: NYU: "Let Go", "Fools", "We Won't Fly Again", "Sunbeams".
VESNA305: "Bridges", "Bel Amore".
xa0
Songs in the series:
Yuuri Nikolaenko's songs are featured in the new series "Landysh", but not performed by him. I haven't watched the series yet, only seen some clips on social media, and they played the song "Kai Fuyu".
xa0
The Actor:
Yuuri actually played in the series "Street". It's interesting to see him as an actor.
xa0
Concert Ticket Price:
We bought tickets the day of the show for 7200 rubles for two people.
If you buy one ticket, it would be 4000 rubles. But if you buy a pair, it's actually cheaper.
Plus, we got back around 1000 rubles in Yandex points.
xa0
Impressions:
I've got a pretty eclectic taste in music, I can listen to pop, rap, and rock depending on my mood.
I was really stoked to have caught the concert.
I loved everything about it, from the atmosphere to the sense of unity when everyone sings along to the same song.
Before the concert started, they were promoting Yuri's upcoming show in March and a big solo concert on December 12th in Moscow. You can already buy tickets for the solo concert in December.
