A Quick Getaway to Vietnam's Stunning Islands
Hello everyone!
I'm always up for an adventure, and when I'm on vacation, I want to make the most of it. I want to see all the cool sights and experience as many new, exciting emotions as possible.
We spent one of our vacation days exploring the Vietnamese islands, and we booked the excursion through our tour operator. Honestly, I'm not a fan of guided tours and overpriced excursions, but we figured, why not? We're only here once, right?
Our bus picked us up, and then we stopped at a few other hotels to grab some more travelers before heading to the International Marine Port of An Thoi. This port is located in the southern part of Phu Quoc Island, in the city of An Thoi, which is also home to the famous cable car.
The port plays a significant role in Vietnam's tourist infrastructure. It's a hub for island excursions, and the country's beautiful resorts attract tourists from all over the world.
Vietnam's tourist infrastructure is pretty well-developed, with beautiful resorts that draw in tourists from all over the globe. The main pier is designed for island excursions, and the port area has plenty of space and parking for buses and motorcycles.
As soon as we stepped out of the comfortable bus, we were surrounded by local women selling sunglasses, hats, and other knick-knacks. Everyone's trying to make a living, and we politely bypassed the locals and headed towards the pier.
The port is home to a variety of vessels, ranging from small to large ships. These ships are serviced here, and you can also spot fishing boats. Port An Thoi is an ideal spot for cargo transportation between Phu Quoc Island and the mainland, and it also serves as a departure point for tourists heading to nearby islands.
I'm always on the lookout for new, exciting experiences, and sea cruises are right up my alley. I'm not fazed by the fact that I often get seasick.
We were lucky with the weather – it was a hot sunny day, and there's a gentle breeze in the port. In the scorching heat, you immediately want to dive into the water to cool off. The water is a beautiful shade of blue, and I thought it was relatively clean and transparent.
I was pleasantly surprised that there's no smell of freshly caught fish, which I can't stand.
We boarded a boat that can accommodate 20 people. I was glad to see that it has a roof to protect us from the sun, and the interior is shielded by glass windows. We were offered life jackets.
Apparently, you can get here on your own motorcycle and head to the islands. It would be a lot cheaper than joining an excursion group.
Our experience at the International Marine Port of An Thoi was enjoyable, with well-developed infrastructure and beautiful scenery. I would recommend visiting the port and taking a boat excursion to the nearby islands.
However, I would suggest considering alternative options, such as traveling independently by motorcycle, to save money and have more control over your itinerary.
