A Budget-Friendly Gem in Moscow That Won't Break the Bank

summarizeEditor's Summary

I'm still on a high from our spontaneous weekend trip to Moscow, where we snagged an incredible deal on a standard double room at the Vega Izmailovo Hotel and Congress Center. For a mere 5,525 RUB per night, we scored a comfy room, friendly staff, and a killer location near the Eastern Railway Station. The hotel's website made booking a breeze, but I wish they'd been upfront about the full prepayment. All in all, it was a total win for us – I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a budget-friendly option in Moscow.

Hello everyone!
Last summer, my husband and I decided to take a spontaneous weekend trip to Moscow. The weather was perfect, and we didn't want to spend it cooped up at home. A friend recommended this hotel, so we gave it a try. We booked a standard double room at the Vega Izmailovo Hotel and Congress Center for a steal - just 5,525 RUB per night.
✅ MAIN INFO City: Moscow Hotel Name: Vega Izmailovo Hotel and Congress Center Room Type: Standard Double Room Price per Night: 5,525 RUB
✅ BOOKING I booked the room on the hotel's official website a couple of days before our trip. The website asked for a full prepayment, which wasn't explicitly mentioned in the description. I paid anyway, as I didn't have time to clarify. The payment went through via Sberbank, but I'm not a fan of this method since I don't get cashback.
✅ CHECK-IN The hotel is located near the Eastern Railway Station, with metro stations Partizanskaya and Izmailovskaya nearby. There's also a park and a supermarket, Pererestok, in the area. The first impression wasn't great - the lobby was a bit dirty and uninviting. However, we noticed that they were changing the flooring, so maybe it'll look nicer soon.
Check-in time is 14:00, but we arrived a bit early. The receptionist told us that the rooms weren't ready yet and asked us to wait. We ended up waiting for a while... and finally got our room at 16:00.
✅ ROOM The room was 21 square meters, which was plenty of space for the two of us. It wasn't cramped at all. The windows faced the main road, which was pretty noisy even with the windows closed. The view was nice, especially at night.
The room had a decent selection of amenities, including a smart TV, fridge, Yandex speaker, tea station, and even slippers and robes. There's a water cooler on the floor, but no utensils in the room.
The room was clean, but the decor and furniture were a bit worn out. Despite the huge number of guests, it was quiet and peaceful.
We had a buffet breakfast for 990 RUB, which was a great value. If you book it in advance, it's 1,100 RUB per person for one meal. The food was simple but satisfying, with a wide variety of options.
✅ OVERALL Pros:
• Affordable price
• Convenient location
• Decent food
• Friendly staff
• Long wait for check-in
• Outdated decor
✅ FINAL THOUGHTS
I think the hotel lacks a bit of charm and polish, but the price is reasonable. So, I wasn't disappointed. There were more pros than cons, so if you're looking for a budget-friendly option with a good location, I'd recommend this hotel.
