Hey everyone!
My husband and I are regular visitors to Moscow, and we often find ourselves in Izmailovo. It's a convenient location for my husband, who works in the eastern district. We used to stay at Alfa every time, but this time we decided to try out Vega.
How did I book the room? I booked it through the official website.
Cost? We stayed for 4 days in a standard double room and had breakfast for two of us three times. The total came out to around 16k + 6k for food.
Address: Moscow, Izmailovskoye sh., 71, corp. 3V
Location:
Izmailovo complex isn't right in the city center, but its location is actually really convenient. It's within walking distance of Paritzanskaya metro station, which makes it easy to get to popular tourist spots. There's also a Moscow Central Circle station, a tram stop, and a bus stop nearby.
Hotel Izmailovo Vega on the mapBut you don't even need to head to the city center to have a blast. Literally, Izmailovo Kremlin is just a stone's throw away, with all sorts of fairy-tale locations, commercial museums, and some really unusual spots like the Vodka Museum Also, there's the Ferris wheel, Izmailovo Park, and loads more Izmailovo KremlinAnd of course, each hotel has a ton of cafes, shops, and whatnot. Plus, Izmailovo is a massive hotel complex, comprising five separate buildings: Alpha, Beta, Vega, Delta, and Gamma. Each one is a standalone establishment with its own star rating and price tag.I was blown away by the sheer scale of the place, with 5000 rooms making it the 8th largest hotel in the world. And get this - Izmailovo is also the largest hotel complex in Europe.

Accommodation and overall impression of the hotel:
I've been to Izmailovo a few times as a kid, but as an adult, I'd only been to Alpha a handful of times. So, my husband and I decided to give Vega a try, thinking it'd be similar but cheaper.
Hotel Izmailovo Vega 4*The lobby in Vega, weirdly, has a really futuristic design, which is a total departure from the rest of the building. But overall, it's super spacious and comfy. We walked past security without any issues, and there were no queues at the front desk. We booked a standard room with a double bed. The room itself seems okay, but it's starting to show its age, even though it's spotlessly clean. However, the bed is great, there's a small TV, a mini-fridge, a tea maker, and a table with chairs.Hotel Izmailovo VegaThe mattress and pillows were a real winner for us, my husband and I slept like babies. The room also came with a conditioner, but we didn't need it since we were there in the winter. Plus, the room was surprisingly cozy. The view from the window was stunning - I mean, all of Moscow was lit up like a Christmas tree. But the curtains did a great job of blocking out the light, and I didn't even notice any traffic noise
The bathroom was a combined unit, and I have to say, I actually prefer it over a separate shower stall. It's just more convenient to wash up in a bathtub sometimes. The sanitary facilities were all top-notch, clean and in great condition - no complaints from us!And the amenity kit was a nice touch - it had everything we needed, and the products were actually pretty good, even for my sensitive skin.Breakfast:
I've gotta say, Izmailovo's always been known for its Swedish table, and often that's a real bonus, but Vega let me down in this regard...
No, the selection itself is fantastic, it doesn't fall short of the more star-studded Alpha, you've got everything you need
Some dishes are beautifully presented, it's a real treat to look at We were both trying different things and everything was really delicious. Soft sausages, sweet casseroles, assorted cuts and so on.But the price for breakfast is way too steep, even considering the rich Swedish table
As it turned out, it's a lot more cost-effective to head to a café or tea house instead, especially since there are loads of them around Izmailovo, many of which are open 24/7. My partner and I went to two places, Besh-Barmak and Gurman House, both were delicious and affordable
✅ Convenient location, plenty of infrastructure nearby
✅ Comfortable rooms
✅ Tasty breakfast
✅ Good value for money
❌ Expensive food
❌ Better to look for rooms with discounts
Verdict:
While Vega and Alpha both have four stars, Vega is way easier to use - I thought it was only three stars, to be honest. That's why it's cheaper. Overall, the value for money here is great, but the extra services have gotten really pricey. You know, things like food, luggage storage, and so on. So, it's a good idea to look for discounts to balance out the total cost.
Still, this is one of the best budget hotels in Moscow. My husband and I loved it, and we'd definitely recommend it to you!
