A Stain Slayer That Fell Short of Expectations
Hello everyone!
I've got a favorite white blouse that's been my go-to for years. It's super comfortable, fits like a glove, and doesn't need ironing. I've worn it to the office so many times, and it's been my quick pick-me-up on mornings when I'm running late.
Disaster struck on my colleague's birthday when I got distracted and spilled sauce all over it. I tried to get it out with a regular stain remover, but it didn't work. The stain just kept getting darker and more stubborn. I thought I'd have to say goodbye to my beloved blouse, but I decided to give Vanish a try.
I'd heard of Vanish before, but I'd never actually used it. It's a well-known brand, so I thought, why not? I bought it on Ozon, and I have to say, the packaging left a bit to be desired. There's no protection from accidental opening, which is a concern. I mean, it's unlikely someone would tamper with the product on the shelf, but still...
I got the large bottle because it was on sale, and I thought, why not? It's a big bottle with a handle, and it looks like it'll last me a while. But, of course, there's no measuring cup or lid to help you get the right amount of product. You just have to pour it on liberally, which can be a bit messy.
I used it on my blouse and a kid's sweater, following the instructions on the back of the bottle. I applied it to the stain, let it sit for 10-15 minutes, and then washed it as usual.
And the results? Well, let's just say I was disappointed. The stains didn't disappear completely. They just got a bit lighter. My blouse is still ruined, and I'll have to replace it. The kid's sweater is still wearable, but it's not perfect. I'm not sure if it's worth keeping.
I was really hoping Vanish would be the solution to all my stain problems, but it fell short. If it had worked on those tough stains, I would have given it five stars. But unfortunately, it's not that effective on old stains. Maybe it's better for fresh stains, but for me, it was a total letdown.
I've tried other stain removers in the past, and they've worked okay, but Vanish was supposed to be the best. I thought it would be a game-changer, but it wasn't. I'm not sure if it's just me, or if there's something wrong with the product, but I'm definitely not impressed.
One thing that stood out to me was the packaging. It's a big bottle, but it's not very secure. I'm not sure if it's just me, but I felt like it was a bit of a risk buying it without a lid or measuring cup. Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but it's something to consider.
For the price, I wouldn't recommend Vanish to anyone who's looking for a reliable stain remover. It's not worth the money, and it's not effective on old stains. If you're looking for a good stain remover, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.
That being said, I do think the large bottle is a good value for money. It's a big bottle that'll last you a while, but like I said, it's not very secure. I'd be careful when buying it, and maybe consider a different brand altogether.
I've had some good experiences with other stain removers, like OxiClean, which worked wonders on my husband's favorite shirt. Maybe I'll try that one next time.
Vanish might be okay for some people, but it's not for me. I'll be sticking with my trusty old stain removers from now on.
I hope this review helps someone who's considering buying Vanish. I'm just sharing my honest experience, and I hope it'll save someone else from disappointment.
