  • Not suitable for babies under 6 months
  • Tiny print on the back of the packaging is a total pain
  • Only 20 days to use after opening, which is a bit of a hassle

Editor's Summary

I recently bought these cookies for my 8-month-old daughter, but I gotta say, I'm not impressed. The packaging says they're suitable for 6+ months, but I think that's way too young. Even though the instructions say you can mix them with milk for younger babies, I just don't get it - why not just give them fruits, veggies, or oatmeal instead?

Hey guys, I recently bought these cookies for my 8-month-old daughter to try and teach her how to hold and chew food. The packaging says they're suitable for 6+ months, but I think that's way too young. Even though the instructions say you can mix them with milk for younger babies, I just don't get it - why not just give them fruits, veggies, or oatmeal instead?

Manufacturer: VanSlad LLC

Weight: 50g.

Shelf life: 1 year - that's pretty long for kids' cookies, right?

After opening, you've got 20 days to use it up, but make sure to seal the pack tightly.

The back of the packaging is a bit of a mess with tiny print.

I don't see anything too bad in the ingredients list - it's got sugar, but that's okay, and there are some vitamins in there too.

Nutritional value:

Protein: 8.4g;

Fat: 11.6g;

Carbs: 70.2g,

including sugar: 19.4g.

Calories: 419kcal.

It's pretty calorie-dense, if you ask me.

Recommended usage:

Recommended for kids from 6 months. For younger babies, mix 3-4 cookies with 100ml of milk or formula, stir well, and feed from a bottle or spoon.

For older kids, you can mix it with warm milk, water, or juice. You can also use it as a snack without mixing it first.

Recommended daily intake for kids from 6 months: 3-4 cookies, from 8 months: 4-5 cookies, from 10 months: 5-6 cookies, and from 12 months: 6-7 cookies.

I mentioned at the start of this review that you're supposed to mix these cookies with milk for kids from 6 months. And then they give you a whole list of recommended daily intake. Are you kidding me? Do you really think these cookies are essential to a kid's diet?

Package contents:

It's just a bunch of solid cookies in different shapes - they're light-colored and not burnt.

I was expecting 3 cookies per package, but it looks like I got a square one instead of a circle. Oh well, that's okay! My Experience: These cookies are perfect for little hands. My toddler picked one up and pulled it towards her mouth with ease.

She seemed to enjoy it, although she only had a tiny bite. She even mushed it a bit.

What I love is that the cookie didn't break apart in her hands and kept its shape for a while. It's a great option for teaching kids to chew. They'll have time to chew before it gets soggy.
🌱 How I liked it:

Smell: It smells really familiar and light, like a mix of milk and butter (I think all kids' cookies smell the same).

It's definitely less sweet and less greasy than regular cookies.

Taste: It's got a wheaty flavor with a grainy aftertaste.

Texture: It's like regular baked goods, but I found it to be crunchier and lighter.

It doesn't get soggy in your mouth right away, not even with tea. There are some cookies that get soggy way faster than this one. ✅ This cookie is perfect for a kid to chew on before it falls apart. However, be careful not to let dry pieces get stuck in their throat. Give it to them under supervision.

🌱 What happens if you soak the cookie in water:

I took a cookie that my toddler didn't finish and it was a star shape. As you can see, the center is still holding its shape and hasn't broken apart.

One thing I love about these cookies is how easily they dissolve in liquid.

I'm not sure if dissolving them in milk would make them taste even better, but I'm happy to stick with just enjoying them as is.

The Verdict.

✅ These cookies are seriously tasty and light.

✅ They're not too sweet, which is a major win in my book.

✅ The size and shape are perfect for little hands to hold onto.

✅ They melt in your mouth, but don't crumble or fall apart in your hands.
