A Customer Service Nightmare: My UralSib Experience
I've had the misfortune of dealing with some poor customer service in my time, but UralSib takes the cake. Their tactics are straight out of a nightmare, and I'm still trying to process what happened.
It all started on September 14, 2024, when I closed all my accounts with UralSib. I thought that would be the end of it, but boy was I wrong. Over the next 9 days, I received 5 calls from them, each one more annoying than the last. I politely told them I wasn't interested in their offers, but they just wouldn't take no for an answer.
Then, to top it all off, I got a call at 9:16 PM yesterday. I thought it was a scam, so I hung up. But then I called their customer support to report the incident, and guess what? It was indeed UralSib!
I asked the customer rep to add my number to the do-not-call list, but that didn't seem to make a difference. Today, I got another call, and I was fuming. I called their customer support again, and the rep told me that, according to their rules, they can call me for 7 more days after I closed my accounts. I'm speechless. Their goal seems to be to drive me crazy, not to provide good customer service.
I've never experienced such aggressive behavior from a bank before. Even in other banks, I've never gotten calls after I closed my accounts.
I decided to take matters into my own hands and filed a complaint to have my personal data removed. But, of course, they refused, citing Russian laws that require them to keep customer data for 5 years after account closure.
But here's the kicker: they can break their own rules and call me all they want, but I'm not allowed to remove my data. It's like they're playing by their own rules.
I've attached some screenshots of their customer portal, which looks like a spammy website. And to make matters worse, I found out that they'd opened a new credit card in my name without my consent.
I'm dreading the next call from UralSib. It's like they're trying to drive me insane.

Oh, and one more thing: I used to have a credit card with UralSib, and I was promised a cashback program. But after spending over 50,000 rubles in a month, I only got a paltry cashback. It turned out that the cashback only applies to purchases from their partner stores. What a joke.
It's clear that UralSib prioritizes their own interests over customer satisfaction. Their customer service is a total disaster, and I would not recommend them to anyone.
