Honestly, the book description threw me off a bit. I thought it was a bit vague and didn't quite capture the essence of the story. So, here's my take on the plot:
The story
Elsa is an eight-year-old girl who's a bit of an oddball - she's super smart, loves Harry Potter and superhero books, and looks up words in Wikipedia whenever she's not sure what they mean. And then there's her grandmother, who's also a bit of a rebel. She loves to run around naked at the airport, climb over fences in the zoo, and drive without a license. But most of all, she loves Elsa.
Her grandmother created a whole fantasy world for Elsa, filled with stories and secrets that only they share. But when her grandmother passes away, Elsa is left with a mission - to deliver her grandmother's letters to the people who need them.
It's not just a simple task, though. Elsa will discover that the 'treasures' she's looking for are not what she expected - they're not physical treasures at all.
You can love your grandmother for years without knowing her at all.

It's like trying to explain something to people who think rabbit's paws bring good luck, because if paws really brought good luck, they'd still be attached to rabbits.

From the very beginning, I felt completely immersed in the story, and the book starts off easy and effortless. Even the scene where Elsa's grandma dies didn't leave me feeling too emotional - it's described in a way that doesn't go into too much detail, so it doesn't leave you feeling teary-eyed...
But as I kept reading... as the saying goes, the deeper you go into the forest... it becomes clear that this story isn't a light one. We find out about grandma's secrets, and they open Elsa's eyes (and the reader's) to a lot of things and explain the behavior not only of grandma but also of all the people she wrote to.

I didn't find anything unnecessary or irrelevant in this book - everything is exactly where it should be.
