My Awful Experience with This Tour Agency - A Cautionary Tale
I'm still trying to wrap my head around the disaster that was our recent tour with this agency. We booked two excursions, and I'll break down the details for you.
The first excursion was to the Yona Park and the Glass Bridge. We were promised a visit to the bridge, the park, and lunch, but it didn't quite live up to the hype. The bridge was overcrowded, and we couldn't even take a decent photo. It was like trying to take a selfie in a packed subway car. The park was nice, but nothing special - they promised a visit to the orchid park, but it was nowhere to be found. And let me tell you, the lunch was a chaotic free-for-all. We were expecting a more organized experience, but it felt like they were more interested in getting us to the bridge than ensuring we had a good time.
We were really looking forward to exploring the orchid park, but it was a major letdown. I'd been hearing great things about it. The lack of organization and attention to detail was evident from the start. It seemed like they were more focused on getting us to the next destination than providing a quality experience.
The second excursion was to the Safari Park and a stroll through the old town of Haikou. I've attached the receipt, which shows just how overpriced it was. Here are the issues we encountered:
First off, no one warned us that the drive to the park would take three hours one way. We were stuck in traffic for hours, and it was a nightmare. The lack of communication and transparency was staggering. We were not prepared for the long drive, and it set the tone for the rest of the excursion.
People weren't warned about the cold, so everyone froze. I was expecting a fun day out, but we were all shivering. The cold weather was not taken into account, and it made the experience even more unpleasant.
The excursion was split into two parts. The first part was a self-guided tour of the mini-zoo, which was basically a bunch of simple animals like crocodiles, monkeys, and beavers. They promised a panda, but it was nowhere to be found. We were really looking forward to seeing that adorable animal. The mini-zoo was a disappointment, and it felt like they were trying to cut costs by not including more animals.
The lunch was a joke. We got a tiny plate with a few sad-looking dishes, and that was it. People left hungry. I was expecting a decent meal, but it was a letdown. The quality of the food was subpar, and it was clear that they were trying to save money on the catering.
The main event was the safari, which was supposed to be a thrilling experience. Our guide promised us that we'd be in special vehicles, observing the animals in their natural habitat. But what we got was a crowded bus with 12 people crammed in, driving around the park for 40 minutes, looking at animals in cages. We saw a few species, including lions, cows, and ostriches, but it was a far cry from what we were promised. We were expecting to see the animals roaming free, but it was just a bunch of animals in cages.
After the safari, we were taken to the old town of Haikou, where we had about an hour and a half to explore. But of course, we were taken to a souvenir street, where the prices were outrageous. If you wandered a bit further from the center, you'd find all sorts of tacky souvenirs and household items. It was like a bad joke. I was expecting to find some unique souvenirs, but it was just a bunch of overpriced junk.
So, to answer the question: would I recommend this tour agency? Absolutely not. The experience was a disaster, and the prices were outrageous. We won't be using this agency again, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. In fact, I'd advise people to steer clear of this agency altogether. They clearly don't care about providing a good experience for their customers, and it shows in every aspect of their business.
